I'd like a right winger who can kick with both feet and a backup defender for Schar. Not arsed who or where from.
-
Reet!
Pope
Tripps
Schar
Botman / Burn
Hall
Tonali
Big Joe
Bruno
Isak (left)
Wilson
Gordon (right)
Let's get some crosses in the box from Hall, Gordon and Tripps and have a fucking go.

I don't really care about the subs. More the mentality of the team overall. I wanted subs on sooner, and more intensity in our game. Neither Barnes, Longstaff or Wilson really busted a gut after coming on. Whether it's down to instructions, the players or a combination we'll never know. Just hope we see a (cringe) 110% effort against Brighton next for more than 20 minutes.
Agree with this, said it yesterday, It was attitude over subs. We were rocking before Tonali and Gordon went off. Lost our impetus and started playing too many sideways slopping passes.
If Barnes had squared it the subs would never be discussed. Tonali was getting loose also before he came off.
We just fucked it up. But we never looked great the whole second halve to me.

I just wished that kit makers would get away from templates and back to bespoke kits per team.
Kit's have always been from templates, really. Some of the greatest kits ever were a template...Dutch 88 (also used by others, Soviet Union Home). Denmark 86 was the Aston Villa, Coventry kit in essence.
Even NUFC 85 Silver was Wolves Home the same year.

Really impressive today, nice that he can go both inside and outside, he trusts his own skill to drop in on his right or his pace to go wide.
-
Poor again, was actually invisible second half before he gave it away. Fitness? Weight? Injury? Motivation? Tonali? Position? Who knows...
Time to knuckle down and get back to basics.

Love wor, Eddie! More disappointed by our approach since the goal than owt else today. Overall, a few of the team need a kick up the arse.

I agree, I wanted him upgraded this summer but I think criticism of him today is harsh.
He'd be the best of a bench for me. Social Media man, the pits.

Fuck off blaming Burn man... Yes, slow, but Bruno shouldn't be fucking around in there, likewise Tonali shouldn't be the two times he give it away before being subbed.
We were sloppy and lackluster in the middle, not much different from City away tbh. Just Gordon had a fucking go.

Almiron getting stick on social media (I haven't read much from here) but I thought he was decent today and looked our most likely to get the second goal. Took the game by the scruff of the neck and hit the post second half, more than the rest of the lads did. Barnes was much poorer when he come on. Subbing Gordon off was brainless, he had the beating of Alexander-Arnold on a yellow.
It would be nice if he went outside once in the 2,000 runs a season. That's my only critique, the most predictable winger in world football. Gordon was blowing out his arse, then again Barnes had a mare, but should have and could have created the killer 2nd.
-
Piss poor really. Even at 1-0 up we never looked in control of that game.
Too many sloppy passes and a lack of urgency, other than Gordon. We're pretty predictable tbh, Miggy cuts back, Tripper triangles, and back to Midfield - rinse and repeat - slow and sideways.
Why can't we whip an early cross in ffs? I thought Bruno and Tonali were both poor, can they play together? let's see.
Opportunity to freshen this up now, take accountability, and give the new lads a game. Any team to lose to and it had to be these fuckers?
Howe, didn't do too great today, I'd blame him more on our general lethargic attitude post goal than the subs, but hey ho, opinions.

Bruno was alright? Tonali was worse
Both were shite tbh. Let's be honest. Tonali gave the ball away a few times, both looked slow. (sorry for the realism)
-
This is gonna be fun tonight. We were shit the whole game tbh. The atmosphere was almost as embarrassing as our midfield - we continued straight on from the city defeat. Slow, sloppy, and side ways.
Gordon apart, not good enough.
-
Top player, MOTM for me.
-
6/10 for me. I think he's well below the Bruno that arrived. Sluggish and slow. Thought it was his injury last year, not sure now.
-
gotta say, Longstaff has been shite in possession.

Guimaraes is having a torrid 2023. Apart from the odd thing, he really is a shadow of his 2022 form. Just looks like he's permanently running in treacle.
Agree, looking rather slow these days. Too many Kinder Eggs?

Now that was wank from Miggy!

City are clearly best team in world. Just so fucking hard. Hoping a direct Barnes and Wilson for last 30 mins can have some success.
I don't even think they've been that good. Most of that today is reputation and we're sitting off them. When we have it we're too static and close in midfield. Some fucker needs to break their backline with a run. Willock would be perfect.
I'd get Wilson on to hold it up and get Isak on the wing.

Not sure what people are expecting almiron to do here
Bruno good. Botman great. Nobody else is really offering much.
Actually, think Almiron is the only fucker making any runs off the ball. The midfield three are so static and no one is breaking behind. Big Joe notably.
Not sure if this is Howe's ask but it's been quite flat and very slow.
-
We're so static. Not much movement off the ball, bar Miggy today. The passing is too slow also.

They are! but fucking hell. Showing far too much respect.

Very lackluster and slow all round from us today.
Just have a fucking go at the fuckers....

Not sure what we're doing here.

Cup game, at home! Let's have a fucking go! They only beat us 1-0 at their gaff. It's not a foregone conclusion.
