  1. If that video's anything to go by can we get a chant going to one of A-ha's songs? Good music taste btw
  2. We're getting someone who works every day (he's on the record often saying it's life-consuming, no wonder) trying to get better for themselves and for their team. Model professional and the consortium obviously have faith in him as he interviewed (The Athletic say better than Emery!) well and has planned transfers, tactics and the sort. Understand the scepticism but no doubt he'll try everything he's got to turn it around as he's obviously that type of person
  3. Details what he's been getting up to since leaving Bournemouth
  4. That article's from last night
  5. Even Bruce was wearing a suit 1st game with the new owners
  6. Was Howe that surprise name then that Ando was on about - I don't remember him really being a frontrunner until the other day
  7. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10167093/Newcastle-set-appoint-Eddie-Howe-new-boss-charge-Brighton-Saturday.html We understand some of his former Bournemouth players in the Newcastle dressing-room had already communicated their support for their old boss to the owners. (Football Insider were right) Howe also impressed during interview by outlining his vision for immediate improvement, with Newcastle winless and 19th in the Premier League. It is thought he shared the view of the hierarchy that fitness levels and organisation could be better, and that the current squad is performing way below its capabilities after a 10-match winless start. Howe is happy to work alongside current interim boss Graeme Jones and is expected to add coaches Stephen Perches, Jason Tindall and Simon Weatherstone to his backroom. Should terms be finalised on Friday then Howe could yet be installed ahead of the tea-time kick-off at Brighton.
  8. https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/19696043.newcastle-set-confirm-eddie-howe-new-head-coach/ At this stage, it remains unclear whether Howe will be in charge at the Amex Stadium even if his appointment is confirmed in the next 24 hours. Graeme Jones has taken charge of training this week and is due to conduct press duties tomorrow afternoon. Whatever happens, he will have a significant input into Saturday’s game as he is already understood to have settled on his preferred starting line-up.

If those lot are against Howe, anything to do with Newcastle, chances are it'll be good for us
  10. Can we get a dedicated Howe thread made, or is it still too soon for heartbreak?
  11. There's your answer on the game!
  12. Another brief. Just don't fall apart again...
  13. Ryder agrees ^^ https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-eddie-howe-talks-22073435 Eddie Howe is hoping to agree a deal with Newcastle United in due course after a day of positive talks with the Magpies. Chronicle Live understands an agreement between Amanda Staveley and the new Toon board is close with the 43-year-old and a three-year deal may be signed in time for the weekend clash at Brighton & Hove Albion. However, all of the formalities for the deal are yet to be completed. And if it does go through Howe could take the game in from the stands with most of the preparation already done by Graeme Jones and the remaining back-room team.
  14. Yeah definitely not the personality part! From what I know Howe seems a likeable enough character
  15. If he's another Pardew then he'll be fine given where we are today. That's why fans say Pardew etc wasn't that bad, because it was better than now even if then, it wasn't good enough
  16. Few new words from Sam Wallace, chief Telegraph writer. Newcastle United are seeking to offer potential new manager Eddie Howe a two-and-a-half-year contract, and he is expected to bring some of his long-serving staff from his time at Bournemouth with him. Telegraph Sport understands that Howe, 43, has provisionally accepted the job, having been the second contender on the shortlist drawn up the new Saudi Arabia ownership after Unai Emery. Among the new staff will be longstanding assistant Jason Tindall, who was briefly Howe’s successor at Bournemouth before his sacking six months into the job. Since then, Tindall, a former team-mate of Howe at Bournemouth from their playing days, has coached at Sheffield United. Also in the frame to join Howe at St James’ Park will be Simon Weatherstone, formerly a first-team coach at Bournemouth, and Stephen Purches, who was assistant manager at the club. Both left Bournemouth in June when Jonathan Woodgate’s temporary time in charge came to an end. Graeme Jones, the Newcastle caretaker in charge of the team, is expected to stay on.
  17. Notice the comments here, lots of Newcastle fans very happy with the prospect Howe was tactically aware. Shame all it took was a takeover for everything to be forgotten. We tried Emery we tried high calibre but they haven't accepted, though not sure on Fonseca or Favre what happened since. The video itself is well posted but the comments I'm focusing on by our fans
  18. Fine to have reservations but don't pre-judge someone before taking the role. Bit like Bruce fans knew he'd underwhelm but gave him a chance to prove them wrong. Afaik Howe isn't anything like Bruce so that bodes well
  19. It's the right opportunity because Howe could be the one delivering that first trophy since 1969, and once this season's past we can look up not down at the table
  20. I think so https://theathletic.com/2620353/2021/05/29/why-eddie-howe-is-not-going-to-celtic-and-why-ange-postecoglou-might-be/ Eddie Howe, too, felt honoured to be approached by Celtic — first, tentatively, last November, when he declined on the basis that he was only three months into a career break after leaving Bournemouth following last season’s relegation from the Premier League, and then far more seriously in March after Lennon was sacked. From the first round of discussions with the club’s Irish owner Dermot Desmond, Celtic captured his imagination. Howe isn’t a Celtic man. He didn’t play for the club, as Tony Mowbray and Lennon had, and he wasn’t raised in a Catholic community in Northern Ireland and immersed in the club’s history, like O’Neill, Rodgers and Lennon were. He took a more objective view of the club and he too quickly formed the view that it would be a wonderful job to take if the conditions were right. But Howe was never persuaded that the conditions were right. For all the feverish speculation about an appointment being imminent from the start of April, there was never a “done deal”. There were always significant hurdles to overcome and, while Celtic were willing to give him time in the hope of reaching a positive outcome, the process slowly meandered towards the point where both sides needed clarity. Howe urged Celtic to hire an experienced operator as director of football to help with an aggressive overhaul of a squad that finished 27 points adrift of champions Rangers this season. He lobbied strongly for Celtic to appoint Bournemouth technical director Richard Hughes, but the former Scotland midfielder rejected an approach to return to his native Glasgow several weeks ago. That didn’t end Celtic’s discussions with Howe by any means, but it was the first significant setback on the road that ended with that statement last night. Howe was also frustrated in his efforts to assemble a coaching team, although it is not yet clear why this proved so problematic. Stephen Purches and Simon Weatherstone, who were on his backroom staff at Bournemouth, are understood to have been keen to follow him to Celtic. In addition to those two, Howe hoped to be able to appoint an assistant manager. That was felt unlikely to be Jason Tindall, his right-hand man for many years, who is currently at Sheffield United and wants to pursue his own management ambitions after a brief spell as Howe’s successor at Bournemouth this season. Alternatives were considered but, for one reason or another, no deal was struck and, ultimately, there is no deal with Howe either.
  21. Top managers will get a shock when rocking up in Benton tbf
