What you laughing at man? It's obviously quite clear the premier league is prioritising "project restart" far higher than this takeover and rightly so. You're not getting a takeover announcement until it's announced football is back on. That's becoming clearer by the day. You will look daft in a couple of weeks when my statement is proven correct.

When is the premier league announcement on whether the season resumes due? Next Monday or Tuesday? Once that has been announced then we can expect to be close to the takeover announcement. First week in June seems most likely.

No chance this week again. Then it's a long bank holiday weekend. I reckon it will be 10 days before we hear any movement again and the second week of July for an announcement

I have just started season 1 of "Sunlun till I die". I never had any intention of ever watching it but I've been that bored lately I thought I would give it a go. I have to say it is well made and put together and I think my hatred of them has gone down a notch to be fair. Seems a lot of good people working their so I no longer wish them go go bust. The one thing I have noticed is how they keep saying what great fans they are and that they turn up week after week yet every home game at least 60% of the stadium is empty.

Yep I have had no doubt that's the case for about a week now. It got laughed off when I mentioned that last weekend too. The fact football has no resume date and may well resume then be stopped again for potentially months is certainly a factor.

100%. It will be at least early June until an announcement in my oppinion. As soon as the PL have things up and running again we will get an announcement. This has a long way to go yet

It's incredible it really is. How on earth they haven't figured out whether they can approve this yet after nearly 6 weeks is beyond me. Surely a couple of lawyers and a couple of the premier leagues staff could work away on this 9-5 every day for the last 5 weeks and have got what they need by now. I bet you could take 5 random people from here, tell us what we need to look for and what the scenario is and in 5 weeks time after working all day every day on it we would have answers! The only explanation is it's massively on the backburner and hardly getitng worked on. I mean they will have had a full day today and I wonder what has been done on it? Nowt I reckon. It feels to me like they are going to stop it but they just need a good enough watertight reason that will hold up in law. Lets face it if they wanted to approve it they would have by now.

Yeah I feel the same. It's coming up 6 weeks on Tuesday for a decision isn't it which is utterly ridiculous. I said a few days ago this will still somehow be ongoing in June as well. Last year we were hoping for a takeover and Rafa and we ended up with neither. I have a bad feeling we are going to be similarly dissapointed next month too and made all the worse of how long it's dragged on and the fact that it's all been all over the media about "Newcastles owners are going to do this" and Coutinho Koubially etc linked It would look ridiculous if we were left with Ashley after all that and I think it would end a lot of people's interest in NUFC again as well. Also if in 12 months time it's breaking on sky sports news about Ashley leaving and the club about to be sold imminently how are we ever to take it seriously again!?

Nobody's bothered about waiting, we're bothered about it falling through. The longer it goes on for, the more likely that is to happen. At this stage, with the new information from yesterday, it's fairly likely. Exactly. There is obviously some reason why it hasn't been approved yet, there is clearly something they aren't happy with.
