I suppose it depends what happened in the other two years of the three that are covered by FFP?
20/21 £37.3m loss
21/22 £0.4m profit
22/23 £119.6m loss
Total £156.5m loss
£51.5m over the £105m threshold.
dont think that will account for allowed deductibles though

There is a player there with the right coaching, I dont care what anyone says. Plus our Shithouseary will go to the next level
My post when it was looking likely he would sign, think I was one of the only ones that was quite happy he signed

I think we could be trying to shaft Chelsea, if he doesn’t meet the signing criteria they would have to remove the £32m they put against their books, which in all likelihood would see them fail FFP, spurs pulled out of the Gallagher signing at the last minute possibly for the same reason, as they will get him for £40m instead of £60m in June knowing that Chelsea have to sell before June 31st

anyone noticed that Sky seem to be no longer broadcasting in HDR

I’m actually genuinely concerned about what the reffing for our game at Anfield will look likeI would be as well, it seems the powers that be want to give Klippty the perfect send off

Want to see horrific referring, have a look at the forest/Livershit game, blatant cheating by the referee
-
We’re normally very quick to jump on shit referee’s, but I think the guy today was one of the better ones, let the game go, hardly heard his whistle and didn’t want to be the center of attention

So the new rules are (potentially) 85% of turnover rather than £105m "losses" over three years?
85% of our most recent turnover is around £210m which sounds like a lot but there's an article from last summer quoting our wages then at £150m(ish) although there are probably more up-to-date figures out there. And then would it be the whole transfer fee included in the calculations or the current amortisation?
The PLs suggestion was 85% of turnover for clubs outside of Europe but 70% for those competing in Europe, matching UEFA. It’s a total crock of shit because any team that qualified for Europe unexpectedly would immediately have to cut their wage and amortisation from 85% to 70%, leaving them weaker with more games to play throughout the season, the only benefit to the new system is to the sly6 as no team would risk trying to match them as they would be in trouble of breaching the rules the next season

Makes our loss to them not look as bad now
-
I understand why some of our fans hate Villa, for me that hatred ended the day they beat Brighton to give us the championship title.
If I’m honest if it can’t be us this season to disrupt the sly6 and the champions league places, I’m happy for it to be them

Enjoyed all the off field stuff for this game too in the lead up with Villa watch posting some absolute turds and now deleting his Twitter.
Got any screen shots, as I’m blocked for terrorising him after the 5-1

Where the fuck has that team been all season, what a result, so happy to eat my words about the result

We’re going to get pressed to death tonight

Jesus, does every fucker on here need to be on suicide watch? I get we're in poor form, but You'd think we hadn't just had an amazing two years with this same set of players and manager.
We’re in horrific form away from home in the league, against a team that’s almost unbeatable at home with a pacy attack and midfield, and we’re playing with a midfield that parts like the Red Sea, what do you expect.

Take the yellow tonight. We can spank Luton at home without him and that’s half the ban served.
We said that against Bournemouth

I liked @brummie more when Villa were shit tbh
People are just clutching at straws, they are probably the best or second best home team in the league currently, with only Liverpool comparable, we’re going to get batted, some of our fans are a bit dense though and think because we beat them earlier in the season we’re going to smash them now

Not NUFC’s issue. We’ve got the means but the current mechanisms and accounting do us over. Unlike others, our owners are willing to plough in their own funds (or more realistically PIF’s).
I know it’s not our issue, our issue is we have spent massively from a low base to try and catch up, we should have a nice chunk of room come July 1st due to £220k plus coming off the wage bill from contract expiration and that rises to £320k if we can get rid of the dead wood, also the initial takeover January outlay drops off the 3 year rolling period.

Why is it so much worse now than earlier? Is it because the PL has actually started to apply harsh punsihments, contrary to earlier seasons? Or is it just the inflation factor?
Clubs got to roll 2 years into 1 during Covid 19/20-20/21, so because they had that extra room probably lived a little beyond their means and are feeling it now.

If it continues with transfer windows like this, then things will change.
It’s not just transfers though. As I have said previously, we are approaching the 30 year mark since clubs up and down the country started doing stadium developments, and building new stadiums for the all seater rules.
This is the point where we start needing to replace or upgrade those stands, and stadiums.
With clubs looking at Everton and seeing them being done by the interest payments on their new stadium, everyone will be reluctant to start doing anything.
Aside from Everton who are too far along to stop now, you’ll have possibly only us (where our owners can just pay for it upfront) and Man Utd (who can leverage commercial deals) who will plan new stadiums, aside from the much smaller ones planned for Luton, and Bournemouth.
The thing is though, it has the potential to prevent clubs from even doing stand by stand improvements, and when the dynamics of a stadium are changing to being more than just for football, that represents a potential income loss for clubs.
Nothing for ourselves will change though until UEFA also follow up with changes, and it would just prevent us from competing in Europe as well, which is a problem for the likes of us, and Aston Villa.
We also don’t know how long these clubs who are not trying to do what us, and Aston Villa are will be happy to set up camp for. The likes of Palace you would think will vote for staying where they are for an eternity.
They weren’t done for interest payments on the stadium, they were saying it was for interest payments, but it was actually for other running costs. Point 22-23

If the reports are true they have to sell £100m of homegrown talent by the 31st June, or there massively in the shit, lot of people saying that’s why spurs pulled the plug on Conor Gallagher for £60m in January as they think they will get him for under £40m in June. They don’t have much left to sell after him though to balance the books until 25/26
