I haven't checked but assumed we will be playing Liverpool in between their Champions League Semi Final and City are beating them on Sunday to kill of the league challenge

We also play Leicester straight after their PSV second leg (away) in the Europa Conference League which they are apparently now prioritising as a route back into Europe next season.

That scenario also requires two of Everton, Watford and Leeds to keep pace as well.

And Brentford, as based on their whacky scenario we have a game in hand over them and are only two points behind - so entirely feasible they’ll be below us.

It’s funny because how many people had Palace to beat Arsenal, or Brentford to beat Chelsea at the weekend on their accas? It’s the time of season where funny results occur - those four games people are just writing off are not foregone conclusions.

The short answer is we’ve been comfortably better than at least the four teams at the bottom of the league over the last 5, 10, 15, and 25 games. It’d take a totally unique run of results not just by us, but the four teams below us also, to see any risk of relegation.

    It’s never going to happen.

I think the chances of both results are similar. I think either of us could go either way, that's what worries me, we're back in the relegation picture after this result. We're much less likely than Everton to go down, but we have been dragged back into it.

Everton are bottom of the form table over the last 25 games, even worse than Norwich. A whopping 15 points from 25 games, but suddenly people are thinking they’ll get 10+ from 9?

Since Lampard came in (10 games), they’ve managed 6 points

You expecting them to turn into prime Barca?

They’re down like. Not a chance they overtake us.

Have you not seen our run-in and how poor we were against Everton and Spurs? We are far from safe.

We’ll get 4 points minimum from our next 4 games and that’ll be more than enough to be safe.

Which of the three teams below us will overtake us?

We’re 9 points clear of Watford for example, they’ve only taken 9 points from their previous 18 games ffs

I can see them beating Man U at home, Leicester at home too and by the time they play them away they'll possibly be on the beach.

Tonight's result is terrible for us. Friday is a must win now.

 Might need to put your french knickers on a 40 degree wash when you’re pissing them like that.

Haven’t been on there for ages, are they absolutely shitting it?

    It’s beautiful.

A large proportion who have dropped a turd, a small minority trying to convince themselves they will be fine and lots of added in-fighting.

It’s like watching drama unfold from your window when the police turn up on the street.

Still think the Burnley win was the worst scenario of the three, as I can definitely see them getting 10+ points from their final 9 games - a nice set too.

It would be glorious if Everton went down but do we really trust Man United and Leicester (x2), for example, to not be twats here?

Even if they do pick up points, another two of Leeds (2+), Burnley (7+) and Watford (9+) also need to pick up more points than us.

It’s just not going to happen. Even with tonight’s win, Burnley would need to get 50% of their points from their first 29 games, in 9 games to overhaul us.

One win and a draw and it’s almost guaranteed. Three of those teams won’t reach 35 points.

  8. Man Utd better fucking smash Everton on Sunday, the useless cunts. Would be typical for them to put a pathetic performance in.

Can’t comprehend how excited Liverpool fans must be to play Everton in a few weeks  What a complete stuffing and enjoyable day that’ll be, could be completely fucked by that point.

Anthony Taylor (Manchester) has been named as the referee for the huge title clash between Manchester City and Liverpool this weekend. Liverpool fans absolutely raging on twitter

No way should he be allowed to referee such a huge game. I find it incredible how many times he gets to ref games in Manchester like

It’s just bizarre they make these decisions when there are so many alternatives. Why create a problem for no reason?

Facebook algorithms have somehow deduced I like reading about Steve Bruce failing at things, so they served me up this unpleasant mental image this morning

Bruce would almost certainly be a receiver.

Aye Fraser has played a part and credit to him but he often goes completely missing and has little impact for me, should really be a squad player at best.

Pretty much the whole team should be though, that’s the problem. We have no alternatives to our starting 11 and that allows good teams to stifle us.

Take ASM out of the game at the moment and we’re toothless. Problem is it’s relatively easy to do that because he’s limited. Same with Wilson when he’s fit.

Wood, Krafth, Lascelles, Darlow, Gayle, Clark, Dummett, Hayden, Lewis, Longstaff, Ritchie are all Championship players. Majority of them aren’t even good enough to be squad players.

  12. Only way the relegation places will change is if Burnley win tomorrow.

Although it’s fairly conceivable Everton could lose (or pick up minimal points in) their next five if they get beat tomorrow though, which would be hilarious.

The thing I love most, if they do stay up, will be their mental gymnastics when they realise they’ve only stayed up because of Rafa’s great start to the season.
