  1. 13 league starts and an overhead kick pass that went straight out play v Boro at home.
  2. Butt was decent in the Champo iirc. Too little too late to redeem himself though.
  3. We should go for frimpong.
  4. What, like we'll be fighting relegation or something?
  5. In the two games he started this year (Everton and Chelsea away), Daily Mail gave him 6/10 v Everton: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12021577/Everton-1-5-Newcastle-Dwight-McNeils-faultless-corner-isnt-halt-Newcastle-rout.html FotMob 7.1/10 v Everton: https://www.fotmob.com/match/3901252/matchfacts/everton-vs-newcastle-united 90mins 6/10: https://www.90min.com/posts/everton-1-4-newcastle-player-ratings-premier-league-27-4-2023 Chronicle 7/10: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-player-ratings-everton-26795672 The Mag 6/10: https://www.themag.co.uk/2023/04/everton-1-newcastle-4-match-ratings-and-comments-on-all-the-nufc-players-newcastle-united/ Sky Sports 6/10: https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12866269/everton-1-4-newcastle-callum-wilson-scores-twice-as-hosts-premier-league-relegation-fears-deepen BBC 7.3/10: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65332145 Against Chelsea: Daily Mail 6/10: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-12133835/Chelsea-1-1-Newcastle-Anthony-Gordon-scores-goal-Magpies-finish-fourth.html FotMob 7.2/10: https://www.fotmob.com/match/3901305/matchfacts/chelsea-vs-newcastle-united 90mins 6/10: https://www.90min.com/posts/chelsea-1-1-newcastle-player-ratings-28-5-2023 Chronicle 7/10: https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-player-ratings-chelsea-27010456 BBC 6.53/10: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65661808 Shields Gazette 6/10: https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-player-ratings-v-chelsea-four-810s-wasteful-510-in-1-1-draw-gallery-4161156?page=2 A lot of 6's and a couple of 7's which would indicate he was anything but "absolute rubbish" @Zero Solid/average/steady at best it would seem from those 2x games, which I think is what the majority on here think he is full stop. Nobody is under the illusion that he's fantastic or the answer to our LB problems, but he's more than capable of doing a job when filling in when required.
  6. why are you talking absolute shite mate?
  7. Can’t detect any hint of a geordie accent in there mind https://twitter.com/NewcastleFansTV/status/1683737372293201921/mediaViewer?currentTweet=1683737372293201921&currentTweetUser=NewcastleFansTV
  8. I just thought Jack was being tongue in cheek about it all tbh.
  9. you shouldn’t grass mate.
  10. I can imagine it. He’ll be swimming in it.
  11. Well we need a new rumour to talk about first. You got any?
  12. for god sake @Zero I spent some time researching that at least humour me with an answer.
  13. What’s wrong with the Hat FM one you got him?
  14. The reason we want a LB (if we do at all) is to upgrade Dan Burn. Targett is more than reliable as a backup.
  15. Been shit the last 6 months when he's only been available for 2 of them!
  16. You're just making stuff as you go along here, there was only one game in the last 6 months where he came on as sub with 15mins+ left on the clock. That was in a game we were walloped 3-zip and the game was well and truly gone by the time he came on. Naturally, it goes without saying that everyone was crap that day.
  17. Because we want a natural LB there instead of Burn?
  18. The season stopped 28th May and its now 25th July, so there's 2 months of your 6 out of the window already. In the 4 months before that: He started v Chelsea in a dead rubber Came on in 95th min v Brighton Came on 82nd minute v Arsenal Played 68 mins in our 1-4 win at Everton Came on 68th min v Villa when the game was gone Came on 85th min v WHU Came on 87th min v Man City away So the earliest he played this year was 4th March away to Man City after a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Meaning he didn't play in January and February, and thus another another 2 months of your 6 out the window. So interested to know, what exactly was completely rubbish about Targett in those handful of appearances he made late off the bench and the one game he did start in the last 6 months? (Bear in mind in 4 of those 6 months he was either injured or the season had ended and no football was being played)
  19. Define "completely rubbish"
  20. Thats down to our defence playing well.
  21. That probably says more about the players he was playing with and against tbh!
