Eddie Howe persistently pursued the Elanga signing. We bid 45 million last Summer and Eddie upped it to 55 million to secure the signing. Yes I agree that if we'd signed a better keeper things would have been better.

The narrative that you have to panic buy players who cost 50 million isn't sticking anymore. Just buy some players, plan ahead, shop around. A shit team did exactly that and beat us home and away this season.

He used to try to beat defenders and regularly succeed. He doesn't anymore. That is potentially a combination of injury fear, previous injuries lowering his level, the general lack of confidence in the squad and the manager not telling him/training him to be more proactive.
