If they were going to do that regardless then why bother with the survey? What if the responses are overwhelmingly "I won't pay more than £700 for a season ticket"?

They had forums for home and away ticketing in the summer and came up with something that works for very few people so doubt they’re arsed about what the survey says. They can say they consulted the fans after though.

On the other hand, how many new season tickets could you sell right now? Tens of thousands I would guess. And would those people stop going after one bad season?

They could sell 10k season tickets now and choose not to.

  3. They were asking how much more you’d pay for a ticket in a new ground. So it would be a new stadium and near enough a 1000 pound season ticket anyway. Have one bad season and you’ve got 50k rattling around a 70k stadium when Fulham at home is 50 quid a ticket.

Argument will be don’t have to charge as much in new ground but that isn’t what happens.

We’ve 30-35K ST holders. 72K+ memberships as of October. 3-5K away fans. Corporate allocation only going one way (up).

The current stadium is sonically poor and will soon not reach UEFA/FIFA standards and limited to what events it can hold. What exactly baffles you?

Don’t know any set of fans that have gone to a new stadium and prefer it to the old one. It’s sonically poor yet nearly every player and manager says how good the atmosphere is. Couldn’t care less about it hosting anything other than Newcastle games. I think going much bigger would be too big.

  5. The atmosphere is better now than it’s ever been since the ground got extended in my opinion. Away ends have got worse, not just this season but this season has been particularly poor.

I’ve still never queued to get in for more than about 2 minutes.

It’s worth remembering that (I think) your ticket opens any turnstile and you can freely walk around the whole ground once you’re in.

Guess it’s the top tier that has queues since you can’t walk up when inside?

What time are you getting there? We walk up by the East stand and the Gallowgate corner and all of the East Stand and Leazes corner are massive queues.

East Stand always used to have a bit of a queue but never used to be a queue Leazes corner. Is now though and it’s getting worse every week rather than better.

  7. 3pm Saturday kick offs are always wank unless it’s a massive game. Great for away fans who are out all day but the majority of home fans once they get to 30+ have something to do before or after, kids football, have to get somewhere after etc.

And having to queue for 20 odd minutes to get in pisses everyone off just when they’re looking forward to seeing the game.

    1. We aren't in a bad run.

    2. There's no such thing as normal people in football.

    3. Our owners have showed incredible restraint, despite what people thought was going to happen after our takeover.

Eddie Howe is under very little pressure. I don't need to see any more from him to know he's the real deal. He's the epitome of form is temporary/class is permanent.

I don’t think we’re in a bad run but we have no idea about any of that. Anyone other than the owners saying he isn’t under pressure means nothing.

  9. I don’t agree with the ticketing policy for away games now but it hasn’t helped anyone other than season ticket holders with low points (maybe friends of players/staff as well). Other than the 1000 they sold last year they’re still people who’ve been going for an extended period of time. It does seem a bit different but cutting down on people passing tickets on is what most wanted when it became harder to get tickets. It lacks some flexibility but other than that don’t think they could have done much else.

Don’t know the home system as well, seems baffling that loyalty isn’t taken into the equation there, but when you’ve got people saying they’re desperate to go and can’t now knocking back tickets because they’re not in the right area of ground maybe they don’t want to go as much as they say they do.
