Krafth and Dummett at the back, Tino on the overlap they were singing

The away games in the league i’ve seen or heard plenty of people who it seemed like hadn’t been to many games. But it wasn’t like that last night.
-
Had a great day.

We can’t keep using that as an excuse
That is how it is though

Brighton, West Ham, Wolves and Bournemouth are the worst away games of the season and had them in a row near enough. With CL games as well around the same time wouldn’t be surprised if it was a bit more back to normal after Bournemouth as people been happy to give them a miss.
-
I’m amazed at the amount of people that would rather not go than just take any seat offered like.
-
The flags have been magnificent, think it’s brought a bit of a togetherness again between the players and fans, but the atmosphere is good if it’s a massive game, we score early and get on a roll or most have been out all day. PSG had all three of those, Dortmund lacked two of them. The atmosphere is always dependent on the the game rather than the flags or the standing area.

Not just in here folk aren’t enjoying the match experience. The club need to make the Gallowgate all standing and clearly badge it as a singing enclosure.
Didn’t enjoy anything about the atmosphere last night, apart from a couple of Geordies renditions the whole ground just doesn’t get going anymore, the Blaydon Races used to always carry right around the ground.
Really loving this team but a big part of going to the match is the atmosphere for me, can’t say I’m in any rush to go back following last night.

Was there any indication how many applied to move into the standing bit over the summer?

Away teams in europe have always had a section down there.
-
Luton away is ideal though.

The pricing must have something to do with not being able to pick a seat through the ballot. When it’s the same price to sit in the East Stand or the back of Level 7 it doesn’t make much sense. You’d think now things are less rushed they could do the ballots earlier and give people time to pick their seat. They don’t seem to have thought through any of it though.

Was just flat all round last night, even before the game it was mentioned walking up.
-
I had two tickets on my phone today. First one worked straight away, did exactly the same for the second and it didn’t. I’ve seen some people not doing it correctly but the system also seems pretty average.

The rules about players betting on games is ridiculous, someone playing for Gateshead should be allowed to bet on the Champions League final, but betting on your own team is just brain dead.
Brighton and Brentford being owned by people who make all their money through betting syndicates and Stoke being owned by people who run bet365 shows how much the FA/Premier League really care about gambling in the game though. -
I wouldn’t be happy if someone told me to sit down at an away game but the not sitting in your own seat annoys me. Some people just don’t want to stand with 4/5 people in the space of 2/3 seats like happens. Must even more annoying for people with kids or their missus there.
-
Not surprised if it was subdued after 7 games in three weeks that most will have done all of. And it’s an abysmal place to go to.
-
Has anyone in England built a new ground and the atmosphere has improved? None that i’m aware of.
-
Queues are a joke and nothing has changed since the first game.
-
Aye, agree with you generally just feels a lack of consistency across ticketing. Also have the issue now of someone with loyalty points can’t wait for someone with none, like a child, and go in the ballot with them.
-
Hope they enjoy it after making no effort to go for the last 20 years.
-
Never officially been able to pass a season ticket on either though. That was happening even more and they’ve now made it possible for half the season while cracking down on away games.

Why? Its clear this season that the lower points totals are giving more people the ability to attend, whereas tickets previously were hoarded at the much higher points totals.
If that’s the way to get more people in then fine, but you can’t have one rule for corporate/players/media and another for season ticket holders.
I’m fairly sure all the people being described as hoarders or touts were just getting their mates tickets. I understand that caused some people an issue but they’re being seen as bad guys when it wasn’t like that really.
-
If one person can give someone else their ticket then everyone should be able to.

And it’s easy to blame the trust because people know who they are and some of them seem bell ends.

Overhead a conversation in the airport today. “Load of dickheads go now so i’m not going to go as much. But we used to be those dickheads and we just don’t like the new ones doing it”. Thought that summed it up quite well.
