  1. Letting him try and run it off doesn’t seem the best move but at least he’s not played like a man on one leg for months before having the operation.
  2. I heard the intial scans all showed something wrong to varying degrees, the club were happy for him to have surgery, he thought he could rest it, the other injury situations at the club played into that decision and now he’s out for another 6-9 months after playing like shit and looking nothing like he did before the injury for a couple of months.
  3. Not sure how they align when you were told it was all ok and the new injury came out of the blue when Downie’s description sounds like they made every wrong decision from start to finish.
  4. The only finals I can think of hosting are Rugby or Football. You’re not getting a Uefa final away from Wembley and you’re not getting a Rugby final away from Twickenham, other than ones we’ve already had.
  5. Sunderland are nicking the big concerts. They’ve got one this year.
  6. Fair enough but no clubs in England are having more than a few concerts a year. Needing a new stadium for that doesn’t seen worthwhile.
  7. What high profile sporting finals could they have? There hasn’t been a uefa final in England outside of Wembley since it was rebuilt. We’ve had Rugby finals as well as international games in rugby and football.
  8. People wanting to play in a not full stadium yet moaning about the current atmosphere doesn’t make much sense. How many concerts do other clubs have? Spurs have three listed this summer and can’t remember other clubs having more than that. Also got the rugby union european finals which St James had recently. Is only the nfl in addition to that and probably no more of those games to go around. If concerts are such a big draw and money spinner why are they building the new arena near enough the same size as the old one?
  9. Would have preferred to see him show a bit of interest on Monday night.
  10. I don’t think anyone wants him sacked but he’s not got the previous experience/achievements to be untouchable for where the club want to be. If any of the current top 7 sacked their manager I don’t think he’d be considered by any of them if he was available. Maybe Tottenham.
  11. You should probably let every club in the world know that you watching a game and looking at the score is a better indicator than xg.
  12. Because every club in the league uses xg to assess performance rather than results.
  13. And not using Ritchie to take a penalty. He’s getting every decision wrong at the moment.
  14. Fucking unbelievable bring someone on take a penalty and it’s not Ritchie. Incredible.
  15. They weren’t though. They were spending as much as anyone.
  16. This was before ffp and they were spending 50mil a season on transfers.
  17. Getting Bournemouth promoted was a great job. But if you get relegated 5 years later, signed 40 players in the meantime and still playing half the team you got promoted with I don’t think you’ve signed very well.
  18. Agree with that. But they didn’t get any better in the five years they were there. When he needed to sign Premier League players he struggled.
  19. I think Howe seems a good cunt and will be disappointed when he leaves but the way he’s handled some things this season (general approach away from home, Lewis Hall, Dan Burn/Livramento) and the comments when Ashworth left (and having his nephew working in recruitment) does suggest he wants more of a say in recruitment. His recruitment was a big reason he got sacked at Bournemouth and the manager shouldn’t be anywhere near signing players at a big club these days.

    Dan Burn

I think Howe is conning people with Burn. Before the Forest game he talked about how much Burn offers tactically when i’ve never seen him play like anything other than a normal left back (other than being ridiculously tall for a full back). Near enough every team in the history of football playing a back four would have one fullback stay deeper if the other was high up the pitch. Then a day later he does change tactically, Trippier going into the middle of midfield in possession and Burn narrower in a back three and he still got done on the break for the 1st goal and a massive chance before that. The only thing he offers different to other options is height and he still plays at home to Bournemouth then gets left out against the best team at set pieces in the league away from home. Absolute certainty we hear about defending set plays for two days before Blackburn and he starts on Tuesday.
  21. Cost us about 6 goals in 6 weeks the daft cunt.
  22. Saudi thing seems nonsense. None of the players that have gone over there you would want. No one was interested in Neves until he went there.
  23. I can’t believe if the club is really worried about ffp they’d have spent the money how they did in the summer. Very unlikely to make a profit on any of those players they signed.
