  1. Agreed I think quite a few teams have done some nice business Spurs- Richarlison,Bissouma, perisic, Arsenal - Viera,Jesus, maybe Zinchenko? Man City - Haaland , Kelvin Phillips Brentford - Hickey , KL -Potter Leeds - Aaronson,Sinisterra,Kalimuendo? Villa - Coutinho, Kamara, Carlos Liverpool - Nunez, Carvalho Southampton - Bazunu, Joe aribo West Ham , Aguerd, Areola Chelsea , Sterling , Koulibaly
  2. Probably because he is involved
  3. Yet we still haven’t made an official bid on any of them. Lots of agent hot air ! (so far)
  4. I still think there is some middle ground between slow gradual and £200 million on 7 starters I think that’s what a lot of people were hoping for ! As a few have mentioned they would be happy with Diaby plus a loan forward Or…..Paquetta and a loan winger or wide forward Which isn’t a crazy spend this window ? it doesn’t have to be one extreme or another If A deal can be done for a 60 million pound player over 3 years (20 million a year) it makes sense As you technically can reduce your budget over the next few windows 99% of deals are done like this anyway We have probably done this for botman , so our overall outlay in this window could be £20-£40 million so far Depending on the targett and pope deal structures ?
  5. If we sign £20-£25 million pound players (that aren’t as good) as our alleged main targets will that not lead us into having to sell them again in a few years and look to buy the Diabys/paquettas/Isak in a few years when they are more expensive ? what happens if we don’t get into Europe , we are In the same position in terms of BIG NAMED players It’s very hard to attract the best without Europe ? I think if there is any chance of a very good player wanting to come(like a diaby) and the price is a little higher than anticipated (it makes sense to push the boat out) so you don’t have to replace that player / position for a longer period plus we then have more chance of getting into Europe / bigger revenue streams / better sponsorship deals and attract better players Obviously I have no idea if any of those players want to come or not For all we know these links could be all agents / other clubs looking to sell and our names are just been added as PIF have money ?
  6. Pulisic would be fantastic , however his wages must be £150k plus ?
  7. As mentioned above - let’s see how it all pans out We (as fans) have no say in transfers and we will just have to watch it all unfold. it’s hard not to get excited when our owners come out and say we will be challenging in 5 years (now 4 !) ….yet reports say we can’t meet Harrisons’ Valuation You would of thought that a quick phone call to Isak or Diabys agent (or both clubs) to get an overview, would have already happened …. before blindly chasing them for months ? We have no real idea what’s happening behind the scenes ? All I know is the top teams seem to be strengthening and at some point we are going to have to push the boat out, as these targeted players will end up elsewhere (which will put us a few steps back) We have what I believe is a very good manager who appears to have improved the majority if not all of our players…. but he will need help (if our aim is for Europe) as we need those extra 2 or 3 players with real class Obviously good recruitment is key and it doesn’t have to be star names
  8. I agree he is a lad cunt however it does appear we are looking at a slow build not that it will please PIF / Bruno / Botman/ Trippier maybe PCP capital can’t afford their 10% of the transfers …hence their line (patience is a virtue / slow build) i am sure PIF have the cash but PCP arent cash rich ? hence the £10m loan from Ashley to speed up the takeover which was odd Wood Burn Targett Pope all seem to be signings to help the slow build and don’t cost a fortune took a while to sack Bruce due to the size of the payoff……as well as negotiate with Ashworth for his settlement figure to drop maybe we will only pay (our price) as PCP have a restricted budget ?
  9. Probably right , it just sticks in my head following the referee decisions and noise thereafter The noise was also insane when tiote smashed in the equaliser v Arsenal on my birthday too!! Comeback v Leicester 5-4 when mark McGhee got the winner was also great 4-2 down
  10. Anyone know the expected attendances for our double header (St James’ park) in a few weeks many tickets left ?
  11. Newcastle drew 2-2 on Sunday against Flyde Which is a good result as they are in the division above and finished 3rd (only losing 5 times) all season My daughter made her Debut for Newcastle on Sunday - So very proud ??
  12. Agreed loudest game I have ever been to was when I was 5 years old Home v Brighton (in the cup I think) 1983 Referee disallowed two Newcastle goals and gave them every decision crowd noise was insane , I was physically shaking !! one of my first ever games never heard noise like it , sure Keegan and varadi , McDermott were all playing
  13. Decent enough Right Centre back : plus cover for right back 23 years old - Tottenham graduate played 10/11 times last season would be a nice squad boost we would seriously have to look at selling Lascelles or let Fede go on a free (or both) #giantsquad
  14. Diaby bid , incoming ? Vibes
  15. If we break our alleged budget , luke Edwards will say…,.. (things changed …..priorities changed ….they decided to spend big now and less in the next window ……couldn’t resist the deal ……had to break their own rules….blah blah blah) if we stay within the alleged budget he will say ….I told you so he said from the outset it was £60 million this window £50 million last window (January) he was wrong both times ,
  16. Could try for Isak plus Cornet ?
  17. Skilful and quick as fucx , great link up player as well
  18. Why wait until after the World Cup when prices will be higher / inflated if any of our targets impress ?
