I don’t think they are with him - he’s started every pre season and apparently been that good he’s forced himself into a CM role with the manager saying he gets no say etc etc but he is a big part of his plans for next season. i just genuinely think they want to keep this lad as would we.

He was a player who had a bad injury track record and couldn’t be relied upon because of it. We received no bids for him at all yet some people on here seemed to think we should have took our chances with taking a £40m fee. if we did that then spurs and Liverpool (rightly so in my opinion) would have complained as would others.

They’ve obviously kept the fee to exactly what we need and no more as there’s teams (and the prem probably) waiting to nail us to the wall.

I honestly think with him and the option of burn (even more so if or when we get a CB, maybe one for next year) then we’re fine in CB for now personally.
