Agreed, it’s not just Howe that refused to drop him as captain, Last 3 managers have kept him in team as captain now so must be different on training ground. For me though trippier is showing the stuff captains should have with trying to get everyone to applaud fans after defeat and his statement of training and hitting gym to set a good example etc.

Would you rather stay up and always have to pay over the odds because teams know we will? Whenever people go to buy a player from say spurs people say “buying from levy isn’t cheap” because he’s earned a reputation. We need to earn a reputation and make sure it’s the right one

And sorry for my passive aggressive reply, for what its worth I totally agree we shouldn’t pay whatever they ask, the reputation we make for ourselves is very important and if we cave in to everyone its not good.

I’m nearly 50, born in Newcastle and supported them all my life - getting the chance to get carried away doesn’t happen that often so maybe I have gone a little crazy.

If clubs don’t believe we’ll be big one day then clubs like Man U wouldn’t be so hesitant regarding loan deals. They’re trying to derail us so they know what’s coming. May take several years but it’ll come, even if we get relegated in the mean time. Just my opinion

I’ve thought this as well, we should say this to a club like Brighton who we’re after a defender or so to tighten up. Just say - trust us, get in it our good books now and we’ll do right by you later with loans or whatever.

Totally agree, offer more then what they’re worth but don’t go silly - may take a window or two but eventually they’ll learn they can get more from us but try and take the Piss they’ll get nothing.

It’s because teams hate us or want to exploit us financially. If we do end up staying up we should publically thank Man Utd and Seville etc and say “because of them not selling to us - we’ve created a much better team spirit within our current squad and because we didn’t cave and spend crazy money on prices demanded we have even more wiggle room now in the ffp rules”

Yep, looking further back under howe we beat Burnley and drew with ten men against Norwich so we’re picking up points in the most important games. I’m very optimistic now
