He’s the option when you’re attacking but when they have 74% possession and are raining down on you the knackered tripps is not the best option. Put hall LB and move livs over - he’ll even put Burn LB and play Alex Murphy CB but use this chance to give him a full weeks rest.

Livs could have come over to right and we had at least two options for left, tripps wasn’t our only lb choice. He got brought on cos he was tripps and it was the wrong choice.

Yep, he should have been nowhere near the pitch to be honest. It was a good chance to give him a proper weeks rest mentally and physically but instead he’s gonna be in bits now. As I said a page or two back his strength is attacking and we were never doing that tonight, he’s been off recently defending and we had our backs to the wall. Should never have come on.

We’re back to roughly a game a week and that’s a massive silver lining as well.

Was a perfect chance after the Fulham game to give him a weeks rest, we weren’t getting up the pitch so didn’t need him for his crossing or anything - got that call wrong for me.

He’s a 33 year old playing an insane amount of minutes and getting nowhere near enough rest.

He needs to rest tripps for weeks not a game here or there.
