Delap to Chelsea makes a lot of sense. The only problem being I could easily see him signing for them early on this summer and being promised game time, then they go and sign Vlahovic/Sesko/Gyokeres a few weeks later and then he'll be stuck on the bench most of the season.

Do you think both of those players would be capable of getting 27 G/A next season for us? That's the main objective really, age shouldn't matter when you're talking about players between 21-26, which is roughly where the peak for footballers is. Mbeumo being 25 yet proven in this league and far more likely to provide output is a better bet than Kubo who is younger at 23 but has had a poor season this year in La Liga and no real way of knowing how he'd fare in the Premier League.

250K a week probably helps. Only a couple of other clubs in the league that will pay him that and none of them want him. It's a good signing, but that's two thirds of there transfer budget gone now so they'll need to start selling a couple of players sharpish.

Is it even that bad of a mistake? I think it's getting totally blown out of proportion because it's the last game of the season. If this happens in any other month of the season it gets moved on from pretty quickly.

I think it may well be the exact opposite. Its more about wages for clubs in Europe now. and Villa pay massive ones (in relative terms to their turnover). They need to sell ASAP. A few clubs will be sniffing around them before the PSR deadline. Just like us last year.

I agree to a point. This season though, seeing Forest come out of nowhere and almost qualify and Spurs now finishing 17th and also qualifying, add to that Villa very nearly getting it twice in a row. It felt far more unfair if we weren't to get it.

I am enjoying seeing Villa fans fuming on social media. They got outplayed by a horrific Man Utd team and they are very lucky they have something to "blame" that on. Shit happens, I'm glad it's happening to them.
