  1. They did press occasionally, but with that CB pair you cannot press high against Gordon very easily. They played just long ball after long ball, and that is why we got so much possession. we score the penalty and it’s 0-2/3. We were lucky against Southampton, and unlucky here. Barnes was starting to be quite tired. We had goal line clearance, penalty and a breakaway. Should have won.
  2. We created quite enough chances to score 2-3 goals
  3. We should have won this. But performances are getting better. Tonali improves us a lot.
  4. It was just reported by Liverpool fans that Luis Diaz's "verified" salary is net after tax sum, because of translation error from the portuguese newspaper or something. So yea, maybe not the most trustworthy
  5. According to understat, only Fulham (who created a lot transitions and should have scored) xG against you were clearly less than 1,29. Brighton: 2,14 Liverpool: 2,10 Southampton: 1,36 Palace: 1,67 Tottenham: 5,41 (average 2,53) Your attackers are not scoring, and you are letting a lot of xG against.
  6. This whole ”civil war” is boring and media stirring it up. Or course DoF evetually wins, but if we have a good season nobody talks about this.
  7. So you mean dangerous, possibly career-ending tackle is not a red if it misses the player? Of course it is serious foul if you go for the ball like that. It would be suicide for the opponent to challenge for the ball. to be honest, that kind of tackles are very rare these days compared to 20 years ago when I started watching PL. They were never red back then..
  8. ”Eyes on the ball” must be the worst explanation ever. What does that matter?
  9. Our defence is going to hammered by better teams. To be honest even today we could have got something out of this.
  10. These problems are not about individuals that start. The system Howe insists is too easy to play against at the moment.
  11. Our system has so many flaws. No left footed right winger, slow cbs, huge gaps and wingers very wide making Isak isolated
  12. Non-existent pressing, huge gaps when defending and Isak isolated. Howe doesnt seem to have a clue how to fix this same problem.
  13. I do not believe a second that there was anyone willing to buy him. He is finished as a top level striker, at least if he doesn't miraculously get over that injury problem. WIth that age and injury record and decent wage, no one is going to touch him.

Not sure about these stats, that indicate he has created around as much threat as Pickford...
  15. For teams like France and Italy, it really doesn't. Tempo in international games is usually lower anyway. But I was certain he would be eased back anyway. He will come good, no worries. I am a bit worried about our attacking play in general though. Bruno does not have enough passing options and Livramento has been poor.
  16. You do know that a) Nations League games are pretty much friendlies b) tempo in the Premier League games is way higher than in international games I am not saying I would have made the same decisions, but i try to understand his reasoning. On the other hand you and me are guys on the sofa playing FM and Howe is one of the best managers in the league. Pretty sure he has his reasons for these decisions. If someone thinks Howe rates Longstaff more than Tonali, give your head a shake.
  17. I dont think starting one player in Longstaff inplace of Tonali who has not played much is ”suboptimal”. Barnes yea, but neither him or Gordon are RW. Murphy (or Almiron) is a natural choice there. Yesterday Nkunku, Hudson-Odoi and Garnacho came of the bench to score. Would have guessed they should usually be starters.
  18. You are right, but we are also starting players, like Burn, who puts us under pressure anyway. Why not Kelly LCB by the way? and positive is that Howe is using the squad, last year we ran out of steam in November. But most likely Tonali will start from now on at least.
  19. Agree on Barnes, cause he wasnt playing with NT. Gordon hasnt been as good as last year. Barnes earns a place.
  20. Yes, but there might be 100 reasons that we don't know behind this. "Playing your best players" meant for example with Pardew that he played Ba as a left winger, which didn't really work defensively at all. His changes turned the game, and he made them early. Great job. Overall our performances have been poor, especially attacking-wise. Right side is dead at the moment. Livramento and Murphy doesn't work at all, and centrebacks cannot play to midfield if Bruno is marked.
