fucking hell. I don’t really invest too much emotional time into all to be honest. Clearly one or two have people who are in the know, and in turn they will have their own sources so I wouldn’t expect everything to be accurate each time as information is fed through. Best just to take it with a pinch of salt and see what happens.

while that’s all important to remember, it’s encouraging to hear the gaffer talking about wanting to fill those positions now so that we have that strength in depth towards up-and coming games. in terms of future success, the foundations are being laid now signing players in their early 20s already with huge quality along with investing into the academy. it’s all exciting stuff and we do just have to enjoy the ride. At the same time, armchair moaners will always find some negative narrative to whinge about.

He can only go off information he’s being given and out of a lot of them, his source has proven to be more reliable than others. At the end of the day he doesn’t have to give any of us any information, and that’s the way I look upon it, being grateful in the way as otherwise we’re kept in the dark and fed information from journalists we don’t really wanna give the time and day of.

He did play some good balls. Everyone seems to be on form for pinging the ball all over the pitch. Even Lascelles. Schar and Botman must be giving them all ping-time sessions. I can see why he wanted to try that formation with what we have in attack and midfield. You obviously have to consider that players are still working on their fitness and game-sharpness, as otherwise we allowed far too much room off the ball at the back and getting caught out whilst pressing high up the pitch. You never see that from us and when it does happen, our recovery makes up for it. focussing on the positives from the game with individual performances from Anderson and miley in particular, but also our will to get back into the game and prove clinical enough for a result.

Looking forward to Ritchie’s pointing off the ball and doing knowt on it. Come on!

Really impressed with Anderson so far pre-season. His drive on the ball, passing, link-up play and finding his confidence in front of goal. Looking really composed.

Seen him plenty times using it to keep his balance while he plays it with his left.

Nice finish from Anderson. Kept his cool and slotted the ball in around the keeper.

Had two great chances so far. Seem to be off the pace at the back like . Villa could have had a third there.

Seems like anything happening incoming is pending on this maxi deal going through as far as what Eddie has said. I don’t know why it’s taking so long. Hopefully this week we’ll see some progress at least with that then hopefully a chain reaction of signings .

I think that just speaks volumes to be honest. They want to keep him. It’s all psychological. They’re digging their feet in and unless we pay it they get what they want in him staying otherwise we move on to another target.

It is weird this still hasn’t been officially announced. Maybe they are were hoping to announce both tino and Harvey at the same time. Whatever’s going on, seems to be delaying him going over to the US. Potentially personal stuff with housing, etc.
