Anyone heard anything about the wage they've got him on?
-
Expect them to do well next season, World Cup might throw a spanner in the works as we don’t know how it’ll pan out yet but on paper they will be going in a lot stronger then last season
-
That’s a move that makes total sense tbh, good upgrade on Moura
-
We also spent £100m in Jan though, £200m over 2 windows is a pretty heavy spend for any club. I was expecting us to spend anywhere up to 150m this window (with sales) but I think it’ll be closer to 100m now unless we get one big surprise signing.

Pope won’t go anywhere to sit on the bench for 80% of the season. He’s been starting every PL game for his club for the past 5 years, at his age he will have one more guaranteed big contract and in the back of his mind will also be thinking about England. If Pickford gets injured he may well be no. 1.
-
Makes no sense to get rid of Darlow and bring in Pope, both him and Dubs would be expecting to start so one would just end up unhappy. If we really want a new starting keeper we will be looking at selling Dubs surely.
-
If the finances being reported for that deal are accurate then we would have signed him if we really wanted him.

Hugo Ekitike (not playing for Liverpool for a while)

Hes so slow that he makes his plane slow -
Fair point about the Mackems but they are probably one of the few clubs actually disgusting enough to do that Cost their chief exec their job as well didnt it? All im saying is the risk/reward in signing someone under investigation does not add up whatsoever unless both clubs involved believe there is no real cause for concern, especially in the current climate when it comes to cases like these.
-
If Bissouma gets convicted he wont be playing though will he? Sigurdsson was under investigation and must have had decent evidence against him as he didnt play another game for Everton, it would be the same for Bissouma if it looked likely that he would be convicted. Brighton kept playing him and Spurs signed him, I'd say thats a pretty strong hint that he will be cleared.
-
Maybe we were? There may be nothing that suggests hes guilty of anything, if there were Spurs would be taking a massively needless risk in signing him.. the backlash they would get if he was convicted would be enough to put them off.
-
You might say the opposite for spurs though, they will have done their research on his case before committing to signing him
-
Targett sounds alot like Howe
-
To put it simply hes a good ball carrier but not a great progressive passer, if hes not driving forward after just winning or receiving the ball then hes making a simple pass backwards or sideways. Love him to death but I think he would be most effective coming on at 60/70 mins against tired legs.

Im sure we were linked to Hojbjerg a few weeks ago
-
Im only taking the piss like, Edwards clearly talks shite
-
That’s how it works though Positive news that most of us want to hear will be true, anything we don’t like is false.

Shearer and Beckham then Ronaldo and Ronaldinho after the 2002 World Cup

Nah, it’s a natural human reaction for a lot of people to get emotional and ahead of ourselves and expect more than is probably realistic. I’ve seen enough of our fans calling for 4th or 6th now mostly down to the exceptional run we went on since late Jan.. it’s going to happen but it’s okay because at any other club it would be the same.
-
I think in terms of signing out and out starters we are probably looking at 3 more max now (after Targett). CB, RW and CM most likely.
-
I get the feeling with Paqueta that if Howe really wanted him and saw him fitting into our side the deal would be pretty straightforward to do.. just not sure the interest is there from us.

Thats this thread crashed for tonight

Theres also a middle ground here, it doesnt mean that hes not keen on coming here just because his favoured move is Milan.

Hes not that slow after all
