I just dont really see any club being PL teams by right in this day and age, imo nothing else counts except being in the league and being able to remain in the league. History and fan base obviously means something but I dont think it means that any team by rights is a premier league team because a club did well in the 70s or 80s or gets 30/40k a week in the championship.

Based on what exactly? You could label 30+ clubs in the country as so just based off the fact they get decent gates and have been in the PL before. Tbh there might not be a better club for Ashley to buy than the mackems, he will get alot of leeway there simply because we hate him and as we well know pretty much any narrative the mackems collectively follow revolves around us. They will be alright with being bankrolled by him into the championship and probably wouldnt get restless if they didnt go up for a few years.. he might even install some sports direct labelled bins around the ground to help them not throw thelr rubbish onto the pitch.
