And to who? Like there’s some mystery buyer lined up for only if we are relegated, some fans are mental like
-
This one is going to be a much harder match now they’ve got a new manager who they did well under at the weekend and a couple of new signings. It’s a blow that Burn can’t play as we’ve got to go with the defence that played at Leeds now with the inclusion of Targett over Dummett, I know they did well in that game but for the CB pairing that has been one of the exceptions this season.. can only hope that the new midfield will relieve the pressure off of them a bit more. I just want to see the team with our new players, hopefully it really has rejuvenated our squad and instilled a new level of confidence especially if we are leading going late into the game. Could see a narrow victory but much more likely to be score draw imo.

Callum Wilson: offered 'incentive-based' contract extension (Ornstein)

Gayle physically struggles badly since those 2 bad injuries when Rafa was here, theres a reason Howe played ASM up top instead of the actual striker in Gayle. Most of the time when I have seen him in the last 2/3 seasons he has looked scared to sprint, I don’t think he can start for a back to back run of games anymore. He’s just not really an option anymore sadly not to mention he doesnt fit the system that Howe likes to play with the pressing from the front against certain teams, however Gayle from 16/17 would have been great. -
I've said all season that side are a good striker away from potentially challenging for top 6

Place always looks the inside of a biffa bin Never seen another ground like it.

Not even a mother could love that face man

Diop was atrocious first half

International football is a slightly different kettle of fish to the premier league though. There’s a reason Rafa bought him and played him in a 3, he just doesn’t have the right attributes to be one half of a central defence at this level. He is more of a luxury progressive CB that needs to be covered.. not saying he’s absolutely dogshit in a 4 im just saying he’s a lot better suited to a 3. Agree he did have a good showing against Leeds although that has been the exception for him this season.
-
Yeah it’s surprising the amount of people that would have Schar in a back 4 when he’s really not suited to anything other than being in the middle of a 3.
-
Without doubt his character and mentality is as good as you can expect and will go a long way in what might make him an attractive prospect to a top end championship side like you say. Just think he has to be in the right team/under the right manager to get best you can out of him, he’s absolutely another player that is evidence of how good Rafa is when it comes to identifying how to best fit a limited player in a first 11 as he did with many others in 17/18 and 18/19.

New captain in the summer 1000%

I reckon he knew his time was up not just after the Norwich red card but also the ridiculous lashing out in the friendly in Saudi. Won’t miss him.
-
Remember back to when Rafa signed him, apparently he was informed that Hayden was available and watched some footage of him and just said yes. It always seemed to me that he fit well within Rafas system as like others have said he’s clearly limited but given strict, decisive instructions he shows can he can perform at a good level in the premier league. Thankful for his time here, good servant to the club and it will always be nice to associate his time here with Rafa.. I have a soft spot for most of the players that we had here during that 17/18 season back in the prem.

Thought they would be sick of their owners just bringing in the usual suspects in recent years. Must be easily pleased.
-
Beautiful, should have left the club 3 years ago.
-
I mean its a simple graph but its probably the best 2 stats for CBs to compare if only 2 are being used, progressive passes for the ball playing CBs combined with the aerial ability of the more traditional CB sort of gives you a vague but rounded idea. Obviously combining all CB stats would be better.

The "delighted Ashley has gone, but uncomfortable with Saudi ownership" thread

Seeing political shite spill over into football more and more over the last few years has been so gross. I hate politics, I pay no attention to any of it as much as I can and I try to spend my time/energy only caring about things that I can personally control (except for NUFC).. so seeing all this talk constantly regarding my club since the takeover got old pretty quickly. I was hoping it might die down after a while but thats clrealy not going to happen -
5 goals by end of season from him would be a great return
-
I mean for a ball playing CB like Schar is supposed to be his stats for progressive passes is abysmal like, though I understand the team around him is shite.
-
Going off the stats alone Burn is a huge upgrade on Schar
-
I've said it here already in the last few days but since he had those bad hamstring injuries the guy looks like hes scared to run to me, which is a shame as Gayle from 17/18 would have been a decent option for us atm.

Dont think Schar is very suited to play the 360 degree game in midfield
