No need to keep replaying that Isak chance.

Who’s this guy wearing 13?

Emery looked like an embarrassed father when Duran kicked the bottle

It’s probably for Wilson in case he gets a new injury while watching the game.

If Gordon plays wells like he did today, he adds much more to the team than just goals and assists, his influence to our game is far greater if he in form IMO.

I definitely agree with the Joelinton part. if we are to change our style to rely more on quick passing and short plays, then Joelinton may not offer much. His role was more influential when we were more physical in our style, and it’s been a while since we played high pressure football IMO.

This was easily his best game of the season. It seemed like we got Gordon from 2023-2024, and him getting his form back was one of the many reasons why we had such an amazing game today.

Time for Osula to come in and have his first goal.
-
Murphy should’ve scored 4 goals today.
-
Smart play by Sandro.
-
Even Almiron would’ve buried that.
-
Okay I forgive you
-
We should buy him.

Two penalty checks in a minute, and we got nothing for Isak.

It isn’t about playing against a big side, it’s more like we struggle to play against low blocks. -
Gordon just walking inside the box.

Hilarious from Gordon.

Had those three players stayed in their previous teams, there would be no way they would all start the match today for England right now. A huge credit goes to Eddie Howe. I think this should attract many high potential youngsters to come and develop under this man. He will set them in the right path.

Looking at that statistic in a vacuum or isolation doesn’t mean much to conclude it was based on Longstaff starting those games. Other than the last two matches, the other 12 unbeaten matches were in the 2022-2023 season when we were 3rd in the league for most of the season, and even Almiron was one of our best players during that period with his best goal contribution numbers. The entire team was doing well in all fronts, and so associating that solely to Longstaff starting those marches is just misleading. Even then, I remember how we discussed how Longstaff was our weakest point. I am not saying Longstaff can’t play a part in our team, but taking a certain data point in isolation and attributing that to a single player or a factor to make a tactical decision could be misleading, we have to take the broader context into consideration as well.

Statistics don’t work with small and tiny samples. We’ve had matches where we won with Longstaff, and we’ve had other matches where we lost with him. The same applies to Tonali, Willock, Joelinton, and all other players. Let’s just not cherry pick the last couple of games just because we won them. Should we start benching Bruno because we beat Chelsea with him not starting the game?

It doesn’t matter how many goals he scores for Italy, he will end up warming the bench for Longstaff

Wow, well played.
