Not as good as the striped sleeve mock up but I'm surprised at the general disdain for the white sleeve one. Pretty inoffensive to me, can imagine it becoming beloved if we had a good season in it.

Aye, don't mind all white sleeves as much as others seem to. And would go nicely with the supposedly white socks. That being said, think it's nailed on to be the striped sleeve version.

Won’t be announced until after the penultimate round of games so they can see who had what to play for.

Aye. Can see us being one for sure. Think there's a good chance the relegation battle is done before the last day. Ironic given how mental it seemed a couple months ago when it was basically the entire bottom half caught up in it.

Isak didn't follow Ayling who scored. Ayling was Isak's man. He's a striker playing at LW after all. I made this point when he signed about him playing wide. He's never played without an actual wide midfielder tracking fullbacks.

Aye. Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but if we had setup with Joe on LW and either Wilson or Isak central I think we win the game. Joelinton would have followed Ayling in/already been back there, and then him being LW means he isn't there to give away the pen. Obviously this is where depth is an issue, because who the fuck plays CM in that scenario lol.

  4. My feeling at the time, and granted I haven't seen it since I watched the match on the day, was that it was poor from Trippier to let the cross come in, Botman and/or Burn should have dealt with the aerial ball, and then Isak shouldn't have stopped following in, which did for some reason. Sure, maybe Pope could have done a little better with where he pushes the ball, but of all the errors, he had no where near as much control over his as everyone else did over theirs.

  5. I think in an ideal world they'd have been hoping to have secured CL if not by now, then certainly on Thursday, and Bruno could have gone off to get this ankle issue sorted and had the maximum time to heal up before pre-season.

Don't give Leeds anything early doors. We are far more likely to score with measured attacks. If it is 0-0 with 30 minutes to go, they will press and leave opportunities to pick them off.

Yep. They're past the point of being able to take a draw. If we remain patient they will leave openings the longer the game goes on.

  7. Does feel like Diaby could be this window's Botman. Someone we have been chasing for a while who finally comes in. The being said, hoping there's truth to the Nico Williams rumours, would prefer him. May not be quite as good at the moment, but given he is two years younger I think he could have a higher ceiling.

Win this one and we’ll do it easy.

Aye. If we can get 3 points here I think that will give us the momentum to roll into Brighton on Thursday and beat them which, whilst not mathematically, is game over for other sides hoping  we drop out the top 4. Although (unless I'm mistaken) we win this and Brighton, and Liverpool don't beat Leicester then that would actually fully confirm top 4?

Anyway, think this all comes down to getting an early goal. We do that and they have to try and come out and play we could smash them by 3 or 4. If they manage to keep it tight & cagey it could be slog. Good thing for us is even a draw isn't really good enough for Leeds at this point. At some point they're going to need to come at us, which will leave openings. Nightmare scenario is them getting an early goal then sitting with 10 men behind the ball for the rest of the game.

Having a player like Maddison allows us to play 433 4231 4141 4411 442 - just this one player allows us to be so flexible, which we need to be next season - I’m all for it

Exactly this. Part of the reason Maddison is such an exciting signing is his ability to play effectively in so many positions. Playing at home against a bottom half side who are sitting deep? Play him on the right of the 3 in midfield and he can move forward, effectively meaning we can transition into a 4-2-3-1 with him as the 10. Playing against a top side? Play him on the right of the front 3 and he can drop back and play as another midfield presence when needed. He adds something we don't currently have.

They could drop points at Leicester. Leicester are legit awful but they are at a home and Liverpool haven’t been good.

Aye, their past couple wins have been far from convincing. Fulham could have gotten a point if it wasn't for a pen. A pen which wasn't fully dubious, but dubious enough that if the ref hadn't given it on the field I don't think VAR would have suggested over-turning it. A Brentford side already on the beach also caused them some problems. Hopefully a Leicester fighting for their lives may be able to sneak a point.

  11. As others have said, I imagine it will be either end of the season, or when we have mathematically qualified for CL. I know it's looking like it's not an actual PIF company, but I still imagine the framework of the deal they have in place has adjustments in it for CL v Europa League football.

I think the DM/CM option was staring us in the face from the weekend.  It’s Romeo Lavia.

See Trippier had a pep talk with him on the final whistle. He was their best player by a country mile. Though Southampton fans seem to suggest he has a touch of the Sissoko's in that he saves his best performances for the the big team/TV games.

I still think it will be Qatar Airways.

The Emaar links seem to come from one of Wraiths pals.

Things may be thawing, but still can't see Qatar looking to pile money into something Saudi backed.

It's also worth noting the Maddison can play in Almirons position too.

Indeed. Believe he started there last night. Though he doesn't play that role in the same way an Almiron does. Or Murphy for that matter. You put him there knowing he is instead going to drift about and look for spaces centrally.

    Personally still worried about Villa.

Villa don't worry, Liverpool on the other hand... They have a run of fixtures now where they could win every one of them and it wouldn't shock me at at all. Villa still have to go to Old Trafford, go to Wolves (local derby), and go to LIverpool.

Hope Villa get 5th (or 4th with us getting 3rd…..won’t happen though….). Great for the league if some different teams get into the top 6.

Would like Arsenal to win but I think they’ve thrown it away.

Agree with the sentiment, just replace 'Villa' with 'Brighton'. Still can't stand that lot!
