Strange that they have shut the taps off for us as well - could have been a good opportunity to clear a few players off the books and make some ground on other teams.

To be fair they (it wasn't a PIF club, but I think it's clear the influence the PIF has on the league now) they did supposedly try to take Miggy.

No outs and a loan DM is likely best scenario. Also the very stripped down basic necessity. Can't believe we aren't still working for that.

Happy to keep Miggy though. We need that depth. Looks like Harrison will get a fair bit of playtime this season!

Can't see Harrison coming straight into the squad. He hasn't even been playing U23 football for City, just U18 games.

It's really quite prepostorus that clubs aren't allowed to spend their own money. If they go bust, that's their problem, I don't see why we need the PL officials to stick their oar in.

I do think having steps in place to protect clubs from going bust. But it's pretty clear now that that isn't what these rules are about anymore. Think the backlash they're starting to feel now is because it's even effecting the 'big' clubs that used to like it as it kept everyone in their place.

  4. Agree that ultimately nowt will happen. Think we will hear definitively on Monday that Miggy has turned down the Saudi's, and that will ultimately lead to us not getting any incomings in place.

never understood why wank was used as a negative term - I love them

I think it works well in this instance, not that Max intended it this way. Obviously not what you want ideally, but good when you have no other option and need a quick fix.

    Noted. No more.

Lets just see what happens shall we.

”smug look and ready too gloat in 6 days time”.

Shouldn't this really be one of those occasions where you hope you're wrong? Rather than gloating about the team you support being unable to strengthen at a crucial point in the season?

  7. Still think he has a role to play. Him and Barnes coming back so close together could give us a real boost in the final third of the season.

Reading posts that are written as if their facts and not just opinions is so painful!

This is a huge pet peeve of mine, and it happens everywhere.

  9. If Hopes update on Willock from last week holds (think it was 3 weeks then), we may be banking on him being available for the final third of the season and trying to make it through.

Hard to say if it’s a good idea or not. No ides how long Tripps can play at the top level.  Not clear in what it allows us transfer or PSR wise.

Certainly think he could do another season as the main RB, but with Tino covering more games. Could even do a season after that, but with the idea that by that point he would be cover/rest for Tino rather than the other way round.

I’m not sure there’s any evidence of his age catching up. Just a short period of worse form at the moment.

Aye. Before this run of bad form he's actually been in fantastic form earlier this season. At least in terms of his creative output.

  12. That we're listening to offers for either/both does make it seem like Trippier is staying in Jan. No way Krafth and Trippier goes. Leaves us with one RB till the end of the season.

  13. My hype levels for Gibbs-White are way higher than they were for Gordon this time last year. Obvs Gordon has more than proven himself. Think Gibbs-White would be class. Technically sound, creative, but with a bit of bite about him.
