We haven't made an innovative or original transfer since he joined, no sign of any Brighton style transfers at all which is disappointing.

I'd argue Minteh could end up becoming that. Obviously we need to see how he kicks on when back with the squad, but has the hallmarks (loan move in a lesser league going well, flying under the radar etc).

  2. Micheal Edwards would be the dream, but that seems like a long shot given the sides he has knocked back recently.

Whoever it is needs to be in place fast, this is going to be a busy Summer for ins and outs. I think they ideally need experience working at a side thats been regularly involved in European football.

Said it before, but it's a bit like starting a relationship with someone who cheated on who they were with to be with you, you can't be surprised when they then go and do the same to you.

If he goes that'll be his 3rd club in 5 years, find it all a bit odd from someone playing such a key role to be that flitty.

Think he is clearly climbing a career ladder. I do think it's a daft move for him given that Man U is really a final destination kind of club, and by all accounts he is probably good enough to wait for a safer bet than them to come along. Like if he were leaving to go to City, Liverpool or even Arsenal I'd think it were a smarter career move.

  4. I'm not worried, if he wants to go let him go. Obviously after all the shite they pulled that first January of the takeover we should rinse Man U for as much as possible, but no point him staying if he has his head turned.

Also not worried about the next appointment. The last time they appointed a sporting director they went out and got the person generally considered one of the best in the country/Europe. I believe they'd do the same again.

Rafa would have done better this season. Discuss

Maybe, but I highly doubt Rafa gets us CL football last season. So he wouldn't have had that to deal with. But even then, as much as I loved Rafa and he was exactly what we needed at the time, the way we play under Howe is far more entertaining. And once we have more depth, is a far better way of going toe-to-toe with the big sides.

Wilson is a crock and has been from day one. I love him as a player but I'd argue that his injury record has caused us more problems than his goals have done good.

In general, or this season? Because in general that's super harsh. Pre-takeover his goals kept us up.

I think that the biggest hammer blow was losing Tonali. That has thrown Eddie's plans into disarray

I actually think Barnes may have been bigger. Think his first choice front 3 would have been Barnes, Isak, Gordon. Super fluid forward line with everyone able to interchange at any moment.

  8. Have people still not fully grasped that Eddie does everything he can to mislead opposition during his press conferences when it comes to team selection?

Where from? Good news anyway and I always thought it was totally precautionary but with our luck didn't want to be overly hopeful.

Apparently he was in the metro centre. Just a twitter account but apparently said his ankle was "ok, but sore."

Seems we may have gotten away with it.

Those who are adamant Bruno is being sold this summer I’d just like to ask to who and for how much?

Personally think it will be PSG, and it will be for just under his release clause. So like, 90m. Think it's PSG or nobody mind. Barca can't afford, Real have other targets, no one besides City could pay 100m in the PL and they have Rodri.

He's 18 not 14. I'm sure he must be capable of coming off the bench unless he suffered from some form of malnourishment recently.

Aye, but the step up from playing U23's to PL is big enough. Imagine asking a lad who's only played U18 level to play PL football. It wouldn't be good for him at all.

Think people are going to be disappointed if they think he's going to be playing in the first team this season, even with all the injuries

Yep, people need to remember he hasn't even played U23 football yet for City. Only U18.

  13. I have said a few times that if it was truly there to stop clubs going out of business there's other ways of implementing it that doesn't penalise ambitious clubs. I'd keep the PSR rules in some form, set a higher limit which clubs are allowed to break/go over, but only on the proviso that they have to put aside the same amount they're over by at the end of each period. So if you're 20m over you have to put 20m aside into a trust controlled by the PL. This money is only released back to the club after a designated amount of time, or if the club changes hands.

Bollocks on the line, I think we’ll win - but I think it’ll be tighter than we’d like.

Yep. This one is going to be a tight, scrappy game I reckon. When these sides come here they tend to play in a low block and make us play out and try to hit on the counter. Type of game where if we don't get an early goal it wil be really tough.

Early goal for us and we win 3-0. If they keep it tight and it's still 0-0 after 60-70mins I can see it finishing that way.

What a terrible keeper he was for us, had an ok career afterwards and even seen him start a few for Belgium last year.

Aye, seems to be one of those that has been decent everywhere else he has played, just not us. Think even when we signed him he was a regular (albeit 3rd choice) in the Belgian squad.

Have we signed anyone on deadline day who hadn't already been reported as set to sign, or due for a medical, beforehand?

I know it didn't end up happening in the end, but this was Ekitike the first Jan window with the new owners. There were some light links early in the window. Then deadline day morning everyone was reporting a fee had been agreed and he was on his way to the airport. Obviously all fell apart in the end, but thats the closest I can remember. But even with that it had broken earlier in the morning. Feel like if anything was going to happen today we would have heard reports of it by now.

He’s full of shit and trying to drum up any sort of interest to his paymaster’s diminishing viewing figures because of the mess Scudamore and Masters have created.

This. Even when we have had busy windows he will always pop up with something like this on deadline day. Got to keep people watching/engaged.

I guarantee you there will be a moment, probably round/just after 5pm where he will act like he has just had some huge information through and he will divulge all after the break. At which point he will tell us Newcastle sort of looked at a player, but decided not to do anything anyway.

Convinced we would be where Villa are if not for the crazy injuries and fitness problems we have had this season. We have comfortably beaten them on both occasions and I have watched them a few times this season and they really are no better than us .

Aye, in the games where we have played well we have looked like the team from last season. Just will the injuries and schedule we have only looked like that team 20% of the time if that.
