I just hope people don't get too pissed off if we don't reach top 4. It was always a tall order over a whole season and, like myself and others have said, we are ahead of schedule. The owners and management want to play the long game, and that's fine by me. A trophy this season would be very nice indeed, but again - not a disaster if it doesn't happen. It's already been a great year regardless. And you never know, there's probably a few twists and turns in this season yet. I'm just currently revelling in supporting the PL team with the fewest defeats. But we do have a lot of draws now, and that might be our undoing regarding CL places. We'll get bigger and better, it takes time.

Ah well. Like I said earlier, there's always a shitey patch we go through. Just lacking the killer touch at the moment. Gordon impressed, would like to see him start. If there's a negative in this, it's that I don't think we'll be beating Man Utd at Wembley without Bruno.

Bitter-sweet win for me. During half time, I got the news of one of my most fervent Toon-supporting mates had passed away. Rather stunned now. Was only with him at the Southampton 4-1 league game a couple of months ago. We’re both exiles and hence didn’t see each other that often, but we’ve been to several away games and I’ve known him for decades. Fuck… Feel so sorry that he’s not going to see the next chapters of his beloved Newcastle United. He would have enjoyed tonight. Won’t be quite the same again. Final whistle had me in tears… ?
