  1. Worst PL in years, they’d also beat Spurs easily, spawniest club ever because everyone rolls over for us, Spurs have been paid off with Saudi money. Just the usual perfectly normal conversational hit points of a group of entirely sane people
  2. The greatest remains intact, but it’s up there: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2e65Sm_6Tew&t=80s
  3. FAKKIN WANKERS at that I’ve been in enough NUFC away ends watching hammerings - loud defiance is usually the order of the day. Sometimes getting mullered actually brings out a bigger songbook. I understand what the word ‘support’ means. London clubs are always the flakiest in that regard.
  4. They’re certs for the playoffs for me now. Qualifying, not winning it. Though they would also likely to be starting the playoffs in decent form - it’ll be them or the smoggies coming up.
  5. FTFY While it wouldn’t be our first CL rodeo - and with our ownership, it won’t be the last - I would always want a group of big names. It must be depressing to be a Blackburn Rovers supporter, having only experienced one year of it, yet finding themselves in a group with Rosenberg, Spartak Moscow and Legia Warsaw. And finishing bottom of it.
  6. Lots of players play at a WC - the standard isn’t exactly high (and will become even more mediocre with a 48 team tournament). As others have said, he might make it, he might not. Hearts should feel under no obligation to play a player for our benefit - and the lad seems like a good egg, so I doubt it’s attitude which is keeping him on the bench. It’s far more likely that he isn’t at that level yet. It would be good to see him loaned to a lesser European league or the old Fourth Division for the first half of next season.
  7. 100%. I’d fancy us to get some good results in a group of heavy hitters - and they would give some great memories. I want those who haven’t experienced it to experience it - all of my favourite CL memories with NUFC are my favourite live match day experiences. Beating Juve and Barcelona for the glamour, watching us get a great score draw in the San Siro, the wins in Rotterdam and the draw in Zagreb etc - those days live on in the memory. Or in the case of Barcelona, on a VHS tape at my mam and dad’s house - I was zoomed in on the ITV CL highlights swinging my shirt round my head. Happily, I was about six stone lighter than today - nee-one would want to see me do that today …
  8. I’m going to say I wouldn’t want to be in pot 3 - I’d want as many big clubs as possible. If NUFC qualify next year it will be as much about enjoying being back with the big boys well ahead of schedule - we’re still a few years away from any expectation of doing much in the competition
  9. I’m letting myself think about a European Cup return for the first time in decades now. Geet excited. Three more wins nails it for me - 68 points plus any draws and we’re not getting caught. I can’t see any of the teams below us getting a perfect finish to the season - and they’re all playing each other anyway - and other than Liverpool, our GD is effectively worth another point. If the results all go our way, this could all be over bar the shouting by this time next week - we play another two times by then.
  10. Jumped for a second there - Terry Mac hasn’t been in great health. Corker of a goal Incredible figure in our history - the man is a Scouser, a childhood Liverpool fan who played more games for them than us and won pretty much everything it is possible to win there. Yet if you asked him which club he holds closest to his heart, it’s a dead heat - and possibly even us (he stayed in the NE after his second spell). Love the bloke.
  11. Don’t get me wrong, we can beat this lot, deffo. I’ve just got ‘big game’ nerves over the last few days in a way that - other than the LC Final - I’ve never felt all season. I always wish I was at SJP when the match is on, but I’m missing it like buggery today. It’ll be fucking electric - all nerves usually end at kick off for games like this one for me (just like derbies etc). At kick off I’ll be convinced we’re thrashing the fuckers.
  12. I'm the only one coming into this with not a great deal of confidence it seems - I've sort of convinced myself we'll get beat - and that'll do for me. I'm overthinking this and being a bit of a fanny by the looks of it - probably just the size of the match. Win this and I'll happily start thinking that top four and not just Europe is a possibility.
  13. I can't tell what I hate more - his running pointless pieces on Fraser's being dropped to the reserves in the week running up to the LC final which was of no interest to anyone but his 'exclusive' could have had a negative effect on our build-up, or arrogant shite like that. I think I'd prefer it if he didn't write either, tbh. Or anything at all for that matter.
  14. I haven’t seen the show so can’t be sure of any additional context, but Eubank was always a wanker. For a bloke who dressed like Little Lord Fauntleroy he always had a complete lack of self-awareness as well as a sense of humour bypass. Thirty years on I’m still annoyed that Nigel Benn (who I did like) didn’t beat him, though Steve Collins beating him after pretending to be hypnotised was fucking laugh-out-loud great.
  15. 8 mins added on - make that all three
  16. Was just going to write a goal before 90 is on the clock and I reckon they’ll spawn a point
  17. It is a nice kit mind. I love simple designs - always looks much better; classic football strips. Can’t stand over-designed kits.
  18. That’ll look delightful on the torso of the average football fan
