  1. Without the apostrophe, till is still grammatically correct - it means the same as until, but isn’t an abbreviation.
  2. The worry would be that the high line works with a keeper like Pope who (Saturday aside) has been fantastic as a sweeper-keeper. Can Karius play that way? If he can’t, then we’d have to change otherwise we’re going to get caught out repeatedly
  3. I’ll take pelanties right now if offered
  4. German keepers aren’t allowed to lose penalty shootouts. This is an Iron Law of football. It happened once in 1976 and that terrible mistake has not been allowed to reoccur
  5. NUFC are in a cup final and will have visibility to wider audience (albeit it’s only the League Cup Final - I can’t say I’m arsed about it when we’re not in it). It’s the perfect time to raise visibility and awareness. I just don’t agree with NUFC supporters causing any sort of distraction to the manager - I agree that Howe should have been aware of what he was signing up to, but I fail to see how this helps. Protest outside and inside Wembley, present the letter to Staveley and Reuben etc - Howe’s the employee, they’re the public faces of the PIF’s investment. They’re on Twitter; they’re at most games. It doesn’t seem impossible to approach them. Human rights abuses in KSA are a much more important subject than NUFC - but the only people taking notice of letters to Howe are the smarmy moral lecturers of the very, very soft left.
  6. Yep, a handful of internet goons don’t represent all of us. Though again, I’m struggling to take lectures in morality from a hack employed by *checks notes* a Russian oligarch and a Saudi Sultan.
  7. I don’t blame him either - but there’s an argument that neither PSG nor NUFC were a particular good idea at that stage of his development. The footage that went round on here made him look at best like a very, very rough diamond. I thought he was unimpressive, but I will admit I don’t scout for PSG, Dortmund (which probably would have been a good choice) or NUFC, so I am generally happy to concede that it is possible I’m wrong on that score. While I wish the lad no harm, there’s still a bit of schadenfreude here. What can I say, I’m a bit of a cunt like that
  8. Again, guilty, unorthodox; sue me
  9. Hugo’s the wanker mate, if anyone is
  10. Hope we don’t think about going back for him. I was unconvinced at the time and now it looks like he’d break our ‘no wankers’ policy
  11. Last time we won a domestic cup there was a German goalkeeper playing There ye gan, it’s written in the stars
  12. Looks like Eddie’s high line high press Mags might have to drop a wee bit deeper on Sunday
  13. Can’t help thinking that he’s either going to be Man of the Match or have the worst game you’re ever likely to see a keeper have and we ship four or five goals. My brain can’t find middle ground at the moment
  14. I think the footballing gods should have mercy on Karius given what he’s gone through. And on us - Man Utd has won plenty, losing this one game won’t be owt to them
  15. Yep. Pope and Trippier definitely make my all-time NUFC XI (I’m 40); Bruno G would be hard to displace in midfield, and Botman might just pick up the left-sided CB position. Froggy has a point re recency bias, but like you say the competition in some of those positions isn’t exactly strong.
  16. In Spain they’re usually called ‘Manchester’. Which must piss Man City fans off no end
  17. Yeah, sorry but I can’t laugh at the ‘Moaty’ stuff. He fucking murdered his ex’s new partner and hospitalised her before blinding a police officer for no reason whatsoever (that happened pretty much within sight of where I lived at that point). There’s fuck all funny about the ironic veneration of a murdering cunt for me
  18. It doesn’t for me. It’s the club’s name for fuck’s sake. And everyone I’ve ever met refers to ‘Man Yoo’ and ‘Man City’, not ‘United’ or ‘City’.

No. There are automatic one and three game suspensions depending on the nature of the offence. Of course, this can be extended even further depending on context.

It doesn’t delay anything - the red isn’t put on ice while the appeal process takes place. The appeal would likely be seen as frivolous (and I don’t think you’ll ever see a clearer red card offence other than someone being openly assaulted) and he’ll end up missing Man City too.

Likewise - that lad has been punished enough, it’s the biggest club game of his career so far he’s missing out on. It’s a tragedy for him, and a massive problem for us - but he’s more than enough credit in the bank as far as I’m concerned

Yes, I know where you’re coming from - it’s more instinct than obvious intent. But the outcome, unfortunately for us, is the same either way edit: when I say intent I mean he deliberately, not accidentally, handled the ball.
