The ball was still in play, and the GK tackles Gordon without playing the ball nor getting anywhere near it. Pretty much as obvious a foul as you’ll ever see
-
Goal ruled out and pen decision both correct for me
-
Honestly, I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic
-
I would have though other positions will be prioritised next summer - we’d use up most of our budget buying a player to replace Wilson
-
Used to drive me crackers watching a foreign feed with Metro on full belt. I never understood which punters just couldn’t watch the game with non-English commentary. As if anyone is even listening to it
-
Sorry to be a pedant, but 2nd highest PL scorer - which is still the weirdest record going to me. Milburn is obviously no. 2.
-
Doesn’t strike me as that tbh - we’d struggle to replace his guaranteed goals output next summer. I’m sure he’ll see at least the two years out - and I’m happy about that. Cracking no. 9.

My memory must be playing tricks

I agree with most of that tbf. Not the Kane bit though.

This thread needs to be renamed to the ‘Mike Ashley is not dead’ thread. Then at least I won’t eagerly click on it.

Funnily enough I think he’ll put a MOTM shift vs Brentford. He’ll have a point to prove.

I don’t find Southgate dislikable, personally. Seems like a canny gadgie. I think he’s done well, but 100% could have done better given the players at his disposal - and should have went after botching the Euro 2020 final. His decision-making is becoming bizarre now, though. I think it’s a case of becoming stubborn when the meeja are calling out his decisions - something which afflicts most England managers if they stay in situ for any length of time.

I had been thinking a score draw, but as it gets closer I’m getting more confident. 3-1 NUFC -
The original Brown Ale logo was all stitched - but yes, it was definitely pretty solid
-
No - Maguire’s OG was the only on target effort
-
Yeah sorry mate - bollocks was a bit strong on my part. But I’ve never been fully onboard with the sentiment
-
Yeah, this is basically where I am.
-
True, but that depends on what the club is ‘trying’ to do. I’d suggest that the implication is that the club would be trying to win things, while not demanding that it does. Either way, it is meaningless in the context of the performance of the players.
-
I never liked that mantra, and it doesn’t speak for all of us. Mainly because it is utter bollocks - a team of triers losing every week would not be a popular one on Tyneside.
-
You’re right of course re the lineup vs Sheff Wed - it was just a really poor performance. I can just about forgive it if we’re on a LC run tbf. But it is just so depressing to see the oldest football competition in the world - and one which for most of its lifetime was far more prestigious than the league title - being undermined because of the money. Desperately sad.

I’ve zero time for playing reserves in the FA Cup. There is absolutely no excuse for it.
-
Not that he’ll care (or know), but he’ll get on my bad side if I see another reserve XI start an FA Cup match. Fuck. That.
-
I’m ok with this. He’ll need to perform to be worth £100m+. Not the end of the world if true - at this moment no-one is likely to bid that sort of number for him.
