  1. It’s mind-warping how far he is away from tea-boy Charnley. His CV is really impressive.
  2. I was offered downies in Amsterdam once
  3. I heard the PC Brigade keep chasing them, and killing their fun by pulling them over and tutting at them Something like that
  4. Oh I do. I’ve had to wait a decade and a half to really be able to laugh at them thanks to the fat cunt who owned us. Not being able to laugh at them has felt like having a good yawn or sneeze interrupted. Now I can again. It’s fantastic
  5. What did these maniacs used to do before the internet? I don’t remember anyone in the pub pre-match going on about knowing who we’re signing, but having to dole out cryptic clues
  6. The original comment which set this all off has disappeared - not sure if that’s a good or a bad thing. It was genuinely one of the most crackers things I’ve seen on the internet. Well, today at least.
  7. If I’ve followed this thread right, according to the PC brigade he’s not dead. I think that’s it anyway; I think I need to drink several cans of strong ale to really get my head into this space.
  8. ‘Then rushing through the Paris night They hounded you, you lost control We prayed that you would be alright The news came through - Your body cold...’
  9. I feel sorry for Reims. Hardly their fault his agent is a bellend. They’ll end up taking the fee. Tbf it’s probably the lad’s true value.
  10. It is a shame really, as I always found West Brom's support to be a convivial bunch, and it is a grand old club steeped in working class traditions and with a solid history. But I really will enjoy seeing that grifting fat cunt lose regularly.
  11. I've never believed Paqueta was joining; I'd be surprised if we actually went for him. Our budget must be stupendous if we do - we desperately need another good winger. ASM is the only PL quality one we have - it is a huge weakness. I'd be prepared to go into the season with the midfield and centre forwards we have if we get a cracking no. 7 in.
  12. Christ, I forgot all about that. Especially at the beginning, with the continuous smug shite-filled opinion pieces in the football press (incl the Grauniad - it wasn't limited to the red-top 'PFM' world) about how 'Pards' was mistreated by our support, and how wonderful a job he was doing - all the while with us saying 'give him time, he always has a little run of form before imploding'. The fact he went from 'super duper manager wot those thick Jawdees done wrong' to deservedly sacked within roughly 18 months was wonderfully sweet. Though nothing will top the smug twat's Cup Final celebration before Man Utd stole it. Along with the '95 Cup Final, that's the only time I wanted Man Utd to win a final (and '95 was only because we'd have qualified for Europe)
  13. I thought a cunt-collision like that would destroy the Twitter time-continuum
  14. I know we’re only messing, but MBS is head of the PIF too
  15. 100% agree with the first sentence But I’m puzzled by some of our support who think that KSA/PIF got their wealth from business acumen - I’d point to $500m paintings which may or may not be by Leonardo rotting on a super yacht and suggest that actually, most of it was entirely down to the pot luck of running a country with a shitload of natural resources Also, Luke Edwards needs to come off Twitter. I suspect it’s sent him crackers.
  16. Likewise, Mrs BB and I are longstanding members of AI. I also can't envisage a scenario where I'd go to the place where Exile did re mass graves. It is wretched stuff.
  17. How did you tumble me? The angry tweets at Mehrdad, or the fact that I creep after women on the internet? I'm only joking, of course. As everyone knows, I'm secretly Grumpy Old Man.
  18. I suppose it is called 'Gallowgate' for a reason
  19. Likewise, I think he's an OK PL keeper. I just want to see him fight for his place - and I'm disappointed that he doesn't appear to want to. I'm not privy to his thoughts, of course - but it is hard to imagine that Howe would completely write off his chances of playing. I'm assuming Pope starts first game, but form / injuries / suspensions etc happen; there is no reason that Dubravka couldn't have reclaimed the shirt. Totally understand that if by the next window he hasn't had a sniff of a chance, then fair enough of course.
  20. The fact that the mad bastard would even suggest that is fucking sick, mind. This isn't the considered and reasonable view of an AI member - it is a sick, weird, angry fucker on the internet who would happily use the war crimes in Yemen to play illusory games of ethical oneupmanship with his club's rivals. The mad cunt needs help.
  21. The emotional attachment to Dubravka is lost on me. He’s a decent PL keeper, no more than that. He’s missed half the games in the last two years. I don’t see why we should be having to guarantee anyone a run-out. Much better keepers than Dubravka have been expected to do likewise. I don’t think there’ll be many PL clubs hammering at our door to take him tbh - though of course, England isn’t the only place where professional football is played. Our mediocrity has meant he hasn’t had stick in the press for the ricks and howlers. There is no chance he gets a start at one of the current top clubs.
  22. We’ve upgraded one of the most important positions (if the not the most important position) on the pitch for relative pennies, so I think Pope is a cracking signing. I’d hoped that Dubravka would back himself, but clearly he doesn’t if he wants off before a ball has been kicked. I would have expected him to give it at least six months. Disappointing stuff.
  23. I still think there is a good player in Willock, and I'm confident that if anyone is going to coach the lad to becoming the best he can be, then Howe is that coach. Not sure if he'll make the full journey with us, but it would be nice if he did.
  24. Hope the lad does well. In my mind it is always a natural fit for Scottish players who head south of the border - we’ve had plenty of them since day dot.
  25. Almiron is powderpuff; there’s just no end product. Of him, Murphy and Fraser, I’d keep Fraser for now, but none of them are particularly convincing. Seems like a canny lad, though. I’d like to see him carve out a decent career in a league more fitting to his abilities.
