  1. FFP wasn’t designed for that though. For the good of football clubs. It was designed to protect the product and the status quo.
  2. Yes squad salary caps could be introduced but then the best teams would structure pay deals in all sorts of ways. Scrap FFP. Just ensure that teams can’t spend beyond their means. Remove the restrictions of market value commercial deals. If people want to spunk money like Everton let them do it. The money flows through the pyramid anyways.
  3. There has to be a better way for FFP to work which isn’t restrictive but still protects the club. Owners should be allowed to put in as much money as they like and it count towards FFP with the caveat that they won’t take that money back out directly. Obviously I’m not biased.
  4. And they probably did because they had about 30players out on loan. Paying for itself and then making a massive profit on player sales. They have been able to manipulate FFP due to having these players all out on loan. At one point they had over 30 players out on loan. With sizeable loan fees and wages being paid by the loanee clubs. Chelsea basically doped football.
  5. This is all such a big mess. Meanwhile Man City keep hovering up europes talent. Chelsea keep buying and then loaning players out and selling them for a profit.
  6. I honestly don’t think we have any play to buy anyone. FFP has sorted that out. The news for Everton and Notts Forrest and the timing of it adds fuel to that aswell. Its a big ass reminder that the PL are giving deductions. How the hell can Cheslea get away with it then?
  7. I did my quad November 30th. I tried playing Saturday gone. Instantly went again. First kick of the ball. Now I’m not leet or pro. But if it’s taken me 6 weeks and it went instant im sure it’s the same for Joelinton. I reckon this bad news could in fact be true.
  8. Personally can’t see it either. We don’t have 8m euro to spend (FFP) so it’s a non starter. Unless we sell players.
  9. Bizarrely a lot of the goals we concede are when the other team is on the counter attack. We pump players forward. Fail to score and get caught fast. This makes it a positioning problem and still leads me to think we need a DM.
  10. Fair market value is quite easy to establish. You can just look at past deals and average them out. That’s the mean value. Then you can apply logic to it. It’s the key to our progress. Commercial development. And it’s where we can improve things massively. The issue is the PL have put in place a system where they have to approve the deals. That is illegal and against trading standards.
  11. Wasn’t it 6m plus Gillespie? Still a terrible transfer.
  12. It was a foul and should have been given. Having said that we should have defended it better but the finish was amazing. We pushed the best team in the world to the brink with 10 players out. I think we should take that as we are going to be just fine.
  13. Don’t get me wrong it hasn’t been a stellar season. Quite the contrary I am saying that it’s a must do better. But the injuries have been horrific. You could argue they are linked to the way we play. But we still have some very very average players kicking around our first team. Eddie did marvellous last season. This season is really where we are at. Albeit 2 positions off where we would like. February we will kick on and finish top 7.
  14. If you compare Livermento to Hall. You have a gulf in class. Livermento is Trips permanent replacement.
  15. It’s more like 350m isn’t it not. And that just makes up for the lack of investment Ashley made. I think we should be doing better than 10th yes. But we have had an horrific injury list.
  16. I agree and my negative side says the same. But ultimately we did the best we could when we are really struggling with injuries. I think the learning starts now this season. We have players coming back and there will be no excuses when they are. Getting Joelinton and Willock back will make a massive difference. It’s just been a very difficult season. But also a journey. Man City took 6 years to really start getting it right..
  17. It’s those heartaches that will define our progress. Hopefully we can learn from them. We are not used to winning in the big games so we don’t have that experience of how to do it. Hopefully we can move on and start to win these games.
  18. It’s just that manner and last minute of it. It’s happened a few times this season. Where the rug has been pulled. We will learn and we will get better.
  19. You always have to mix it up man. Honestly we can’t do the same plan every week. Especially when you have to adapt to the circumstances.
  20. The five year plan doesn’t just mean investment in players. All aspects of the club need to evolve. Commercial deals being the main one so we can work better with the teams above us in terms of buying power. FFP is really doing its job here. Stopping the breakthrough for other teams to get into the big six.
  21. This is why we need to mix it up. We can’t do the same thing every game. Its why we couldn’t break down Luton and Forrest. Howe is a good manager and just needs to develop. He is not the finished article.
  22. Even more so they are all similar type players. Box to box. Which is fine if you have a holding midfield player to sweep stuff up. Bruno and Longstaff work well. But we lack that Tiote (RIP) player to break things up properly.
  23. Howe is a safe option. He is a safe manager. He has done fantastic and took us to the next level. Which was 5-9 position. We are slightly below that right now and it can be excused because of injuries. February onwards we should see the true picture because we will have players back then. Can Eddie take us to the next level which is consistently top 4. I’m not sure. But let’s see.
  24. I think they have to get the balance right. A lot of our transfers have been for the future. Having said that no one could predict the injuries and Tonali situation.
