  1. I’m wondering where that was taken? And if it’s legitimate him. Or is it an old photo with his head stuck on?
  2. I don’t think we can afford to sign anyone though. FFP is hitting hard. The money is there of course but we can’t spend it. Europe seems very unlikely. But get past the Villa game and go on a run of 3/4 wins and it may look different depending on other results. AFCON could hit some clubs hard.
  3. The only weakness I can see in his game at 17 is his speed. But maybe because he is tall it’s deceptive. Everything else about his game is top drawer. The tactical side will come with age. He’s just a bairn.
  4. I think it was reasonable. But the injuries and suspensions have crippled us. We won’t make Europe now. I don’t think anyways. Maybe for long term growth this next season we don’t want it until we can strengthen.
  5. I really don’t think we will buy anyone this window. FFP is hitting a lot of clubs hard and with the examples of Everton and Forrest I think the window will be the lowest spending window in recent history. Transfer fees have gone mental. 7m loan signing fee and 40m for Phillips is ridiculous for a player who is 29 and hardly kicked a ball in 2 years.
  6. This is Howe I feel (see what I did there). There is no point in questioning him either. Well I guess we can question some decisions. But ultimately he hasn’t had a fully fit squad all season. It could be a blessing in disguise aswell. This season is unlikely going to end up with us being in Europe. So we can possibly try other things. Formations etc. Treat the FA cup seriously. Get players back and ease them back in. Focus on what we need for next season when the deadwood gets cleared.
  7. It will take years and two steps forward and right now it’s one step back. The injuries have been horrific. We have to accept that this is going to take time. We are a top 8 club slightly under performing due to injuries. And a bit of bad luck. This season was always going to be difficult. Howe is the man to lead us going forward. I know he’s made mistakes but he’s never had to deal with an injury crisis this bad before. Ive never seen it so bad. And you couldn’t predict the Tonali situation. He owes us big Time when he gets back. Just got to learn from this season. It will be good. The journey will be a roller coaster.
  8. It’s one of the reasons why I think we may sell Bruno. And this window aswell. He is also in Paris which is a little bit of a concern.
  9. This explains why we are not spending and probably won’t unless we sell. It is highly likely we sell Bruno you know. The income would hit FFP instantly swinging it 100m and allow us to buy two or three players. Would you want that all?
  10. He’s the right age and profile. At 35m would be a bargain. But it would also have to be a loan with obligation to buy.
  11. Apparently one of the top performers in Serie A. Played 20 this season scored 5.
  12. Ederson for 35m euros. Snap their hand right off. But Juve are interested. https://www.juvefc.com/atalantas-asking-price-makes-it-hard-for-juventus-to-sign-ederson/amp/
  13. I’d definately take this one up if we could.
  14. I don’t want him at the club. I kind of like him. But he’s the past. Would he do a better job than Eddie under the circumstances. Nope.
  15. Our scouting network are therefore being paid to do not much. Unless of course the plan is always long term. That is a dangerous game to play. We need to ensure we stay at the right end of the table now. We may lose our best players otherwise.
  16. It is. But we won’t do logical. I fully expect Miggy to be running around like a headless chicken in CM. ???
  17. Oh no. The rumour mill will start now. This might have an indirect impact on how we perform. Which way I don’t know. Will it out Howe under pressure. Nah! His job is safe.
  18. It’s easy to get loan deals for average players that top clubs don’t want or want to develop. But loan deals for top 7 clubs is harder because those clubs generally don’t want to help you out. Its virtually impossible to loan a top player from a top club.
  19. It’s possible the contracts for 8-9 players get revised for FFP. I’m not sure and certainly don’t know. There is no doubt that Chelsea have done wrong in the past but did they break rules. Man City with 115 breaches though. Why are they just getting away with it.
  20. Although I love what you’re saying there is no guarantee another owner would do any better or worse in that period. Just look at some of the disasters that has happened. Reading is a perfect example. Ashley was however a tight ass and made the club a complete mess. Our revenue streams stagnated. This is where we will strive in the next couple of years. We can literally double our revenue since the takeover in 4 years. Hence the 5 year plan. We are a club supported well enough to be a top 6 club. It’s the restraints the PL have imposed which will undermine it. If allowed.
  21. This is one of my main concerns and it shouldn’t be allowed. You should only be allowed to loan out a certain amount of players. I call it doping. Its not of course but it stops smaller teams getting the chance to develop and sell players legitimately.
  22. It is possible when you implement a style of play which hinges on players putting their absolute soul on the line to get every last ounce of ability. At some point a switch has to happen between that and quality overtaking. Which is where we are. Players will become better and thus have to rely less on work rate but that work rate will still remain. Which means an optimal level of players which we simply do not have. So Eddie is going to have to adapt.
  23. The rules where designed to restrict competition and growth. Then when the PL couldn’t stop our takeover they introduced this PL review over commercial deals even though they have been exploiting them for decades. It was ok when we had Ashley shafting us. But now we have an owner who could do serious damage to the status quo. Nope!
  24. Yes in some respects they (the big 6) have put the motions in place to stop our kind of rebellion. And we are literally sticking to the rules. While Everton and to a lesser extent Forest are getting shafted which I don’t agree with. They are getting royally done over by rules put in place by the big six after the profiteering they created to essentially ring fence their dominance. Its wrong.
