45 million in today's market could be a bargain, especially being an English player. Even if he doesn't always make the team, he'll be a far better option than bringing on Jacob Murphy!
  2. Pick one! Fee free to explain why if you wish to. Neuer or Buffon? Terry or Puyol? Lampard, Scholes or Gerrard? Foden or Saka? Kane or Lewandowski? Ronaldo or Messi? I've gone for Buffon just because he's not German. Both are obviously all time greats though. Terry just because I saw more of him, but also used to love watching Puyol who was a mad bastard. Both were world-class, old school defenders though. You can make an argument for all three as they all had different strengths to each other. Lampard was unrivalled for scoring goals from midfield. Scholes could control the tempo of a game much better than either Lampard or Gerrard, and could have easily played in any top league. But for me, Gerrard was proper Roy of the Rovers stuff for Liverpool and at times it almost looked like he was winning them games single handily. He was also far more versatile than the other two also. So I would go with him. For natural talent, Foden would be a pretty clear winner but right now I think Saka has gone up a level to him. I feel like Foden has stagnated a bit at City over the last year or two, not helped by Guardiola playing him in different positions frequently. I think Saka has an elite mentality and that's what will help take him to the very top. So he's my pick. I would have said Foden all day long 12 months ago. Lewandowsi is an even better goal-scorer but I won't have it that Kane isn't a better footballer. His hold up and link up play is better, and his passing is on another level. It's also worth remembering that Lewandowski has spent most of his career playing in Poland and Germany, the latter for Bayern who create about 15 chances a game. Whereas Kane has scored most of his goals playing in the hardest competition in Europe and for a pretty average side at times. Due to the fact that he's as good a number 10 and he is a 9, I'd take Harry. Messi all day long. I admire how hard Ronaldo has worked on his game and looked after himself. He's come a hell of a long way since he was that scrawny show pony in his first stint at United. But Messi is on another level for me.
  3. They'll no doubt replace him adequately. They've lost White, Bissouma, Burn and also Trossard from their side in recent times. But they'll continue to motor along. They always seem to find really good replacements. Mitoma and Mac Allister will be the next ones gone.
  4. I don't know why they want him, decent as he is, as Partey and Xhaka have an excellent partnership. He's obviously a better option than Elneny but I don't think he would move to a club where he's not guaranteed to start.
  5. Maddison would be a dream signing as at the moment I feel we're a bit too reliant on Bruno to create at times. Maddison is someone that can drift a bit in games but always has that bit of quality to produce something from nowhere which can often to one point into three. Something like the below would be rather nice. Pope Trippier Botman Schär Burn Bruno Joelinton Maddison Almiron Gordon Isak
  6. You must feel sick if you're a Chelsea fan right now The whole club has been a complete circus since the Yank too over. Signing players left, right and centre without any sort of plan or strategy. And their rivals from down the road Arsenal are currently blossoming and clearly do everything with some thought behind it. You have to say fair play to them.

    Football pet hates

This putting a player behind your wall and on the floor nonsense. I don't know who did it first but it seems to have quickly become a regular thing. It looks ridiculous, and I hope the player that's the one to lie on the grass feels like a right mug while doing so. Can't wait to see some melt hauling a team-mate on their shoulders from a corner kick to give a height advantage...

    Joelinton

We're humans and we all fuck up now and again and do things we regret. He's apologised and if he learns from it and doesn't do it again, then he can take it as a lesson learnt and be a little wiser for it.

He's probably a bit pissed still that they cost him a move to Chelsea, as dodgy as they are right now. Everton is just a toxic place to be, boyhood fan or not.
  10. I've always been surprised that no bigger club have been in for James Ward-Prowse, including ourselves. Even if you forget about his set-pieces, which are obviously among the best in Europe, he always puts in a shift and never seems to be injured, along with being perfectly adequate from a technique point of view. Just a very good player that you can depend on every week. I don't mind him and would never give him stick like a few seem to, but I would happily give Southampton Longstaff plus a wedge of money for him. I think we've been loosely linked with him a time or two over the years haven't we?
  11. Up until a few months ago I would have thought Gallagher from Chelsea would have been a really good and realistic signing for us. But any time I've seen him for Chelsea this season he's been average, and I'm no longer sure how much of an upgrade he would actually be on someone like Longstaff. He seems a bit one paced and also picks up a silly amount of bookings. He was really good at Palace though when playing week in, week out, and most of Chelsea's players have looked pretty turd under Potter to be fair. Caicedo seems to be a bit more in demand, but personally I would love Mac Allister from Brighton. Him and Bruno in midfield would be horrible to play against with their energy and quality.
  12. My favourite Eddie since Edward Elizabeth Hitler.

    Nick Pope

Goes under the radar somewhat as he's not flashy at all or someone that will make the news. He seems the type of guy that will watch The Last of the Summer wine with his wife on a Sunday evening snacking on a few Werther's before retiring to bed at 21:30. He's such a terrific shot stopper. If he could improve his distribution a little so it's just above average, there wouldn't be a better keeper in Europe. There probably isn't anyway right now to be fair, but his kicking is the one thing that can let him down. In him, Pickford and Ramsdale, England have three very good keepers to push each other.
  14. Just needs to bundle one in or one go in off his arse and he will soon be on it again hopefully. Confidence is a huge thing in football no matter what experience a player has. Just look a how poor Son has been for a while now. He was the Golden Boot winner just last season.
  15. Maybe just a change of scenery, something fresh? If we can win the Carabao (I know it's a minor competition but no doubt he would love to win it with Spurs) and finish in the top 4, and make some top signings, maybe that will be enough for him to think that there's a better chance of winning something with us than them, and also gives him the chance to continue scoring goals in the PL and chase records. As brilliant as he is I don't think there will be many options for him for a few reasons outside of United and Bayern. I'm sure Chelsea and Potter would love him but that will never happen.

I play an updated version of Champ Man 01/02 and signed Anthony Gordon for us last year! I like this signing a lot. He's a bit raw and obviously needs to improve his end product but he has pace and work-rate along with decent movement. I think there's a very good player in there, even if he does remind me a bit of Johnny Lawrence from the Karate Kid a fair bit.
  17. Wonder if we have any chance of nabbing Harry Kane in the summer if he decides to leave Spurs? Bayern might appeal to him a lot as he will undoubtedly win a few trophies there if he stayed for a few years. But as a family man my guess would be he would prefer to stay in England and the Premier League. He's an absolutely superb player and one that doesn't get given the credit he deserves by some for some strange reason. The only striker in world football that has his all round game is Benzema. Kane could also play off Isak as he would be just as good in a number 10 role as number 9 due to his qualities.
  18. Genuinely one of the nicest blokes in football. That's on top of him being a wonderful football that could play for any side in Europe. Nothing against Longstaff who always gives his all and is a perfectly decent player, but you can only think Bruno will be even better with more quality next to him.
