Following Newcastle home and away down the years and being part of such a loyal, passionate fan base was a source of great pride. Aside from the odd game eg Arsenal SF and PSG (no chance of getting an away ticket) I just don’t get that anymore. I was at Man City away in the home end and I think I heard our fans 2/3 times properly over 90 minutes. Like others, whilst I’ll hope for the best on the pitch, I fear for what will, or rather won’t, happen off the pitch.

Apart from the score and players sent off I was spot on. I remember getting leathered in some WMC near the ground then getting confronted by some Derby fans. Got my false glasses out sharpish.

Stayed in Camden for a couple of nights last week. Quite a happening place with some good boozers including a huge Spoons.

Probably covered already but the season when we lost 4-2 at Derby (can’t remember the year) and down to 9 men was superb with that match standing out for completely defiant support. Other stand out game was Spurs away in the cup in 1987. Brian Moore mentions the away support on the highlights. It could have been a Hilsborough mind - far too many in the paddocks.

I think the new owners missed a trick by not recognising those who were members prior to the takeover who perhaps should have been offered some form of 'enhanced membership' which doesn't have the same status as a STH, but provides a better chance of securing tickets than a scouse twat who can't get a ticket in the away end.

Most fans there were either absolutely leathered, stoned or both.

What a trip that was mate. 'Wee' John was a really nice fella albeit he should have paid for my seat as well as his.

I went on a coach laid on by a Skunker (can't remember his name) from Amsterdam to Heerenveen. Cans for 1 euro, a porno on the TV and some very suspicious substance on the front dash as you got on the coach. I sat under the armpit of 'Wee' John (is he still knocking about?) on both legs of the journey. Happy days.......

Unsuccessful again. Still don’t get why ST holders who’ve tossed off the cup and not been to a single game get priority over a member who has been to them all. The benefit of a ST holder, in my view, is a guaranteed home ticket only. I was one of the many season ticket (of 25 years) holders who chucked it in in the hope that everyone would do likewise to force a change. Not bitter at all.

Saw that at Sheff Wed away back in the day.

Train to Manchester cancelled at York due to a member of staff calling in sick. This country is fucked.

Mate has very kindly bagged corporate tickets for this.
