He overachieved massively at the start but I feel he's under achieved since the 2022 world cup. Always felt he should've gone after 2022 WC, classic FA giving stupid contracts. He's done well overall, but he struggled to move the team forward after the one he inherited. I think he's massively missed sterling and his pace running in behind and the poor performances we've seen have been on the cards for a while in the lead up to this euros. Tactically quite hopeless i have to say.

Pretty awful tournament imo from an entertainment perspective. Football is getting so saturated with all the games they are forcing into the calendar and now they don't feel like events.

He's just saying this Spain side are not like other winners, hence why it's a missed opportunity.

The biggest black mark for me with Southgate is he was scared to drop big name players. Kane was clearly not fit for last few games and then he tried to keep shoe horning foden and Bellingham.

Italy final felt much worse as I felt that game was really there for the taking. Spain were the best side today and throughout the tournament and we weren't suddenly going to change course.

I think they need to phase Kane out of the side. Watkins offers much more.
