well done, underestimated our B line up before the game and certainly overestimated how much United wanted to bounce back after their big derby loss. huge performance. Hall and Livramento has to get more chances in PL too, they are ready.

he needs to improve on seeing games out tactically react in time. there will be lot of games where we cannot decide by scoring another or another two. where we are 1-0 up or 2-1 up and we need to avoid conceding to win 1-0 or 2-1, last two away games perfect example, WHU and Wolves,we let it slide dropping important points. had we not had a high tempo midweek CL game vs top teams we might have enough stamina and concentration to see it out but we had those CL games. lack of rotation will cause our players being ran into the ground by Christmas. our PL rivals in the CL will not start same 8-9 players throughout all CL games + PL games every game. particularly worried of Burn, Trippier, Schar, Bruno, Gordon, Almiron, Longstaff. they can only relax now if they get an injury. last year we did not have this issue, had an easier Carabao run and no CL. Tranmare away then Palace and Bournemouth at home until the semis. now City then United away... also group of death in CL, very unlucky that. neither of Arsenal-s group opponents as strong as any of ours. same with City. also full week regeneration between PL fixtures mostly last season. now Spurs have that (also fucked off Carabao very early). we really messed up on the transfer window, Tonali one backfired, Barnes unable to help us much until January, while Livramento, Hall are good prospects but Howe does not think much of them yet to throw them in as starter in PL games. so basically we go months without any of new signings starting much now. while at rivals look at Maddison, how much he adds as a new signing. or Rice to Arsenal. or Doku at City or Szoboszlai at Pool etc. we probably have one good loan signing left in us for January, cant see much money possible to spend due to FFP, hope its a loan who can come in an help as a starter. we cannot allow no european footie next season that would be a big drop on revenue. even EL makes some money, about half of CL which is still nice assuming we would get until last 8 at least. with 5 CL places up for grabs really wish we could get 5th at least, but will be brutally hard as we need to beat off three of United, Chelsea Villa imo. (maybe Brighton too). I would be surprised if City, Arse, Pool, Surs wouldnt share top4 in some order. 5th could be our wild card still big competition for that alone. next three is horrible set of schedule, United away, Arsenal home, Dortmund away, getting just one win in these would be great.

will be honest, I would throw this game as next round we would just draw Arsenal or Liverpool. after City and Man United... almost as unreal draw as the CL group. there are PL clubs yet to face a PL club in Carabao we have City and United... also if United goes through it helps us in a way to keep them tired later on. I also expect City to nick the win tomorrow in the manchester derby meaning Ten Hag will want to bounce back vs Newcastle and use a stronger line up.

1-0 up vs Pool at home also they had a 1st half red card too we throw it away. 2-1 up vs WHU away until last few mins and we throw it away. 2-1 up today and we throw it away. this will add up to a lot of points end of season. instead of 9 points only 2. only good thing today Chelsea lost at home.

we cant afford to throw this lead away after the WHU game. come on!!!

Howe hates to rotate, hope it doesnt bite us in the ass of main players ran into the ground by Christmas. with the schedule front of us, its gonna be sick run of games. today is the easiest fixture of the next 4 games, and it aint easy by any chance, Wolves can be decent for spells of the game and hurt us with their speed if we are not careful. they beat City and made Pool suffer as well.
-
maybe some false 9 system would work with Almiron. fuck we have crucial hard games coming up before next international break and no Tonali, no Isak. hoping Botman can return asap.
-
rotation needs to start now as next 4 games are sick. Wolves a United a Arsenal h Dortmund a Burn, Schar, Trippier, Gordon, Bruno, Longstaff, Almiron etc. starting these four in a row wont work. Willock, Murphy, Livramento, Hall need to come in and prove themselves. Livrmento was great in the cup vs City, has to do same in league. would say this Wolves one is the most winnable game out of next few, hoping to keep it quit and score one and come away with 3 points s we really need it. have seen Wolves vs United, Pool, and City and they were very decent going forward. they beat City, were robbed of pen vs United and missed sitters and were leading vs Pool too. hope the Dortmund game didnt take out too much energy from the team.

still dont like how Milan ended up with a huge fee out of this and none of this ban backfires at them. had this story came out in May, they would be 60m pounds shorter and an important player our for season for them and his market price would much less next summer. my feeling is both Milan and Tonali knew this will happen, because at the very start it didnt make sense why they selling their young Italian midfielder all of a sudden. now connecting the dots, they needed to sell him as soon as possible I would say which they did. obviously we have Tonali for long term and can be an important piece in the team from next season but can also go the wrong way with him training only all season, can become homesick, zero success to show for it, while fighting his demons on the gambling addiction front etc. this is quite the package, and then the final verdict yet to come if he did illegal betting as that will come from Italian prosecution not the Italian FA. as I read there are potential issues with unregulated betting here, potential tax issues etc.
-
Think we need to investigate what Milan knew of all this. at least get a partial discount on his price. he was their player while he did all this betting and 100% of the punishment effects Newcastle, kind of unfair. but then Tonali and his agent also played an interesting role in this I guess none of this came up when negotiating a long term contract with Newcastle.

Will be honest, the way this season goes and injuries we get and now Tonali off for long, our squad will be on its knees by Christmas with the lack of real rotation done by Howe. Burn, Tripper, Bruno, Gordon etc all played way to much. Barnes out too for months. Bit surprised at the lack of starts for Hall, Livramento. Overall I think we messed up the transfer window, this Tonali signing backfired, despite being our marquee signing for club record, Barnes came after we missed out on Maddison who has now 3 goals, 5 assists at a direct rival, Barnes lucky to replicate that over a full season, Maddison did it in 9 rounds. Livramento and Hall are both good prospects but did not come in to strengthen the starting line up. and even Barnes isnt a starter over Gordon imo. so the only starter arrived Tonali, he certainly wont start anything this season anymore. compared to last season we have a much stronger spurs and Pool and Chelsea will be more potent too. bloody fucking hard to finish in top6 let alone top 4. we may did reach CL ahead of the curve a bit, but the fall back to EL or Conference League wont be too good once we tasted CL. very unlucky with this CL group too, no weak teams, we may have had our only win already, I think its now up for Milan and us to fight it out for 3rd place but I am not sure this squad is big enough to have Thursday night games from February and tough PL games every Sunday. Botman, Isak, Barnes, Tonali all out now, and the schedule is fucking sick, Wolves away , United away, Arsenal home, Dortmund away all within 2 weeks now. call me pessimistic but can see us going through that without a win and few more injuries picked up...
