  1. Grealish doesn't score Rashforford's goal. He gets the ball, cuts inside. Rashford from LW scores goal,
  2. Phillips will be on 100K a week. I'd rather give Miley games
  3. I watched Foden play at LB when he was 17 - Pep never loaned him out for a reason. Around Silva/DeBryune/Silva/Kompany/Fernandinho etc. Sancho is the same school.
  4. This is important - something I'd love the FA/Southgate to embrace. Pep Guardiola and Man City are the best team in the world... Chelsea's academy is the best in the world.. Man City/Pep are now heavily influencing English football. Stones-Walker-Foden, but Rico Lewis, James Trafford, Cole Palmer. England have the equivalent of Spain's La Masia with Chelsea and Man City - and we will throw it away by playing Maguire and Henderson.
  5. Rodri is Pep, Busquets was Pep. There is another Rodri in the wings - Rico Lewis? Agreed - Rodri is the best DM midfielder in the PL by far. It's only good for us that Chelsea spent 120M for Enzo (Bruno is better) - 110M Caicado (Longstaff is better) Chelsea and Man U will continue to spunk billions on players - Eddie Howe/Newcastle, Man City approach - value for money.
  6. For generations we've sold players - now we are in a pure position of Fuck You (FY). Want our best player? FY
  7. Every club in the world would want to sign Alexis MacAllister and Mateo Kovacic for the fees they moved for. Pound for £ Man City have signed Mateo Kovacic - Chelsea spend £400M on a midfield and are still shite. MacAllister and Kovacic are pound for pound great signings. Mateo Kovacic - He's an elite level player, will fit in to Pep's City's midfield. Bar Man City, every club in the Sky Sports 6 is in a 'transition' season. Man City will dominate this league for next generation - they build foundations with Soriano, Txiki Begiristain - Barca mentality - then made it their focus in employing Pep Guardiola. Real Madrid have changed gear when you look at it (last 6year) - the Man U/Chelsea approach of spending £300M every summer is redundant.
  8. I'll bow down to transfermarkt's facts - but I've never seen Phillips play as a CB. Watched Leeds plenty live under Bielsa - Phillips was different level in that team - but never a CB. His failure at Man City is honestly sad. He can run and work like fuck as a midfielder - he played midfield for Biesla!! Going to Man City has shown up Phillips isn't an elite player. We shouldn't be thinking about players that aren't/or can't reach elite level.
  9. He never played as an actual CB. Pontus Jansson, Liam Cooper, Ben White were centre backs. I know what you mean, he played for Bielsa in that half midfielder/quarter back role, dropping between CBs He was great at it - Yorshire Pirlo. Bielsa's tactics are incredible when they work - Bilbao vs. Man U at Old Trafford! Move to Man City is what he's probably dreamed of - but he can't get a game under the greatest manager of our time. Pep would rather give minutes to a young lad like Rico Lewis who's come through Pep's Man City/Barca way than play Phillips. Moving to Man City from Leeds has now priced his contract terms sky high. Like Lingard -ability is 8-15 in the PL, but priced at £100k plus is bonkers. Fair play to the lad getting his money, but like Sinclair, Rodwell he's never getting a better contract than at Man City - he's gone from being great to barely kicking a ball. Man City will be a career finisher - as was Rodwell's.

An in form and fit Luke Shaw would be my LB of choice, natural left footedness provides width and overlap which I love! - but bias aside, Trippier is England's most in form LB. He was quality against Scotland at LB, he was quality against Italy. Yes - he's out of position - but Kyle Walker is England's best RB Not suggesting Bellingham moves wide. I'm suggesting Southgate steps out of the mid 2010's Double Pivot mindset, and starts playing his most talented players in every game. Even Sven knew Scholes was too good to leave on the bench. Southgate will leave Phil Foden on the bench, and play Phillips/Henderson alongside Rice as a double-pivot (circa mid 00s-08 tactic). Against AUS Grealish ran more back to his own half and passed inside - TAA moved inside to play as a DM, with Gallagher just then standing in RB position. James Maddison getting passes from Dunk 50 yards away from goal. If we can't open up Australia from CB, and move their press - what hope have we got when likes of Germany/Spain/Argentina/Brazil when it matters. We will fall down to penalties, rather than being more skilled and just better.
  11. Howay, Phillips is never a CB! He made his standing/name/reputation/move to City from playing in a very good Bielsa Leeds' side. He was incredible at dropping in between centre backs then playing that long diagonal. 'Yorkshire Pirlo' was the cry. Since stepping up a level, training with Pep/Man City his career/talent has dropped off a cliff. There is a reason Rico Lewis is going to get more minutes as a CM/DM for Man City - he's better! Southgate will be blind to see that. Rico Lewis is far too good for U21 level, ahead of Phillips at Man City - but 33 year old Hendo will rob another cap, rather than promoting from a winning U21 side. Players from U21 are actually playing week in week out in top sides in the PL, and playing well - Cole Palmer, Anthony Gordon, Rico Lewis etc.
  12. Can someone please produce something with - England winning World Cup against Portugal. Rooney as manager of England - Ashley Cole is a coach (Tindall role), and Trippier has had 40year old Ronaldo in his pocket all game. Ronaldo has just shit himself at the pure sight of of Ashley Cole. Trippier lifts the World Cup, Ronaldo cries.
  13. Great player somewhere in there - was standout player for Leeds' Bielsa shows me he can run/press - however, Pep has him nowhere near his first XI for a reason. Don't think he's that great, playing alongside more technical/creative/talented players at City has shown him up - he was dross and hid against us when we played them. (City Forums tell) I'd happily sign Phillips if he bossed and ran City's B team midfield against us, but he was rubbish. Moving to Man City has probably ruined him. He's this incarnation of the Jack Rodwell, Scott Sinclair...

Aye - watching back your right. It's still a horrible goal to concede, that's shadowed by the fact we won 3-1 and Qualified. Any manager at a top club side is raging at the seams conceding that goal though. I've still zero confidence that this Southgate's England would ever come back from 1-0 down to Italy in a Euro/World Cup Quarter Final though. Kane can score his penalties, and Wembley can blast out Sweet Caroline. When it actually matters, Kane misses - we miss 3 penalties at Wembley. Harry Kane scores a penalty, of course he'll score; but end of the day - when it actually matters - he misses. Anyone who's ever taken penalties from non-league to World Cup, knows hit hard low down the middle in that situation (goalkeeper has to move), especially on the back of already scoring a penalty - Kane missed, over the bar. 9 from 11 of who started last night would be my first choice XI - I'd swap out Tomori for Maguire, and play Trent in midfield. Southgate fannied around playing TAA in the RB/DM role against Aus and cocked it up, and Trent was still stand out player. We could still be playing against Tomori in the San Siro and nothing is getting past him. Walker is still by far England's best RB, Trippier second - Trippier is by far England's best option at LB. Trent is obvious option for midfield - Southgate/Steve Holland wants to play with 5 defending/5 attacking (circa mid 00's - he's 10 years past it) meaning double pivot. Declan Rice is horrific on the ball in build up - add in Henderson or Phillips alongside is why everyone hates Southgate and makes England horrific to watch. Any team we are playing drops 10 yards deeper with TAA playing in midfield due to his range of passing. Southgate band waggon'd, and asked TAA to play that RB/DM role, but against Aus Henderson just got in the way. Tomori at CB, and TAA in midfield with Rice is the best/only option that restores my faith in Southgate [2nd holding midfielder - with huge passing range, can dribble, take ball on half turn, can press (everything 'Hendo' can't do')] If we had to play Italy in Euro's tomorrow I'd play; Pickford/Walker-Stones-Tomori-Trippier/Rice-TAA/Bellingham-Foden-Rashford/Kane
  15. Phillips isn't a donkey - he's proved he can work/run Bielsa - he'd be good for us with Howe. He's talented enough. He's caught in a Rodwell paradigm. Whether or not he can be arsed?

Maguire should have screened/blocked the front post-6yard box. It's his responsibility to block any low ball into that 6 yard area - the ball gets through, and John Stones is left looking stupid. Maguire doesn't defend the ball away, he's miles ahead of his near post - he's left Stones in no man's land. Honestly England could play any Man City U21 alongside John Stones, Kyle Walker and we'd be on our way. The doddery old basket case that is a 35 year old Jordan Henderson will captain England, whilst Cole Palmer, Rico Lewis watch from the bench.
  17. Fergie = Supreme Leader https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_of_Gibraltar_(horse) Watched a podcast with Lee Sharpe - Fergie was a despot.
  18. Deserves a Championship/L1 side - from all the stories I've heard about Turkey/Greek contracts through podcasts - poor lad is never going to get paid. We ran through Sheffield United with Norwood still playing ffs?
  19. He was the stand out player whilst playing 3 seasons under Bielsa at Leeds. Juan Manuel Lillo/Marcelo Bielsa recommendation - ends up at Man City behind Rodri and Gundgunon. Happily have him here on loan to buy. He's a smart passer of the ball, Declan Rice takes 3-5 touches - Phillips quicker 1-2s.

3-1 vs Italy - great result, qualification. But if you strip it back - Southgate's flaws are still there. Shite first 30mins, Phillips way off, Maguire not defending front post for goal - just crap all round for their goal. Rashford needs to play LW - goal threat. James Maddison, Jack Grealish - amazing players, but always want the ball to feet and play a pass. Rashford wants the ball forward, and wants to score a goal. Foden/Bellingham - The more these two players play together for England, the better England will be. These two are Gazza talented and are proving it at their clubs. Geuhi - Kane's goal. Pickford boomed a ball right at him - Maguire doesn't control it and ping a ball onto Kane. Maguire fucked up at near post for their goal, and was robotic and slow in possession. Tripps - Class. Makes everything look so simple. Trippier and Walker would be first choice full-backs for me.
