I really don't understand his thinking in giving Matt Ritchie any minutes what so ever.
-
Aye but he hasn't looked great lately although obviously carrying a knock, i think the issue is more than team and our struggle to play our usual press. Wilsons goals and assist record for appearances and minutes played is elite, not sure why he faces any criticism.
-
Matt Ritchie is finished he can't even jog never mind run his tracking back was beyond a joke. Are you suggesting Hall would have been worse defensively?
-
Isak has looked the same recently tbf so not sure it's down to the player at the minute. Think the vast majority of forwards would look isolated currently
-
We're talking about coming on instead of Matt Ritchie, Hall has played in midfield for Chelsea so that isn't accurate.

It is my fear that they won't be as patient as the fan base, however we are already ahead of schedule with European football so early after the takeover I don't see how that makes sense currently. -
Aye we're talking as opposed to Matt Ritchie who struggles to jog let alone run. He couldn't even track his man.
-
Looks like he's hating playing at the minute to me, might be that added pressure from the recent mistakes but definitely seems off. Man United was one of his best performances for us and that wasn't too long ago though.
-
Yes yes and Livromento is a full back but has filled In further up the pitch in emergency situations.
-
Think what's frustrating is we can't really see this improving any time soon. We need players back and doesn't look like it's happening. We need Wilock, Isak and Barnes back and Joelinton, Gordon etc back to full fitness to play our game. Could be looking nearer February before we can put a team out with those players in.
-
Why not? He's played in midfield before, refuse to believe he'd be less effective than Matt Ritchie and would also be more benefit defensively defending a lead.
-
Maybe there's something in that and he just didn't follow the instructions or game plan in that match ?
-
If we can't play our press or with higher intensity we just look a bit lost. He's set us up to play that way but currently we don't have the players to do it.

Luton Town vs. Newcastle United: 23/12/23 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

Stunned? Come on man ? -
The trust thing I'd understand if we wanted him to play left back but we wanted him to come in at left wing and just run and maybe be a threat on the counter. Don't get it. Especially given he came in and scored against Man United.
-
No room for sentiment we need to pick the best team to win games and at the minute I wouldn't put Trippier in. He'll be back to his best soon enough though I'm sure.
-
This, no one's saying he needs to be starting games. But not to get on in the circumstances we're in and being behind Matt Ritchie is bizzare, I don't see the point in him being here if that's where he stands. We'd be better off spending the wages and eventual transfer fee elsewhere.

This its game IQ and we need it if we want to win something, Schars suicide run against Milan was similar for me. -
Very likeable and hard working I'd like to keep him as a squad player but the top and bottom of it is he just isn't good enough nor consistent enough. He's a clear weak link now and is costing us.

He's right what he's saying our game management needs to be better and our players need to wise up at times, miggy should have took it to the corner. -

We just seem lost when we haven't got the ability to press and play with high intensity, we don't seem to be able to retain the ball and play a possession based game for even a short period of time currently. -

My worry is they won't have the connection to Howe that the fan base have, keep loosing in the big games and I fear they might look to replace him. -
Aye I love him, brilliant player his performance against Man united was one of the highlights of the season for me. However we have to pick players on form and he isn't in form right now.

I honestly think he's got something going on off the pitch as well as fitness troubles. He doesn't look or seem right.
