Over the years, Trippier has offered us a lot, from set plays and his passing in open play. But when Tino plays, he offers so much to us breaking the lines and his dribbling forward. Having a full back that’s capable of taking on players opens up attacking areas as much as Trippier passing does, both impact in different ways.

CM is what I feel they badly need too. KDB is aging, Foden may be needed outwide or even up top at times, then it’s 2 youngsters, or two average guys Nunes/Kovacic. Don’t have that top impactful CM. Giving they’ve targeted Rice, Pacqueta and Bellingham last season, and ended up with Nunes, seems they were set on a 6ft+ CM that could travel with the ball beyond players. Maybe target similar or go elsewhere. Ederson would be ideal for them IMO if staying on that theme. Think they still sign a wide player too who can play up front. Could be a named player, or someone random, like when they signed Gomez.

I do. But then I’m a big fan of Guehi and believe he’s ready to make that step up. Paying that money will be daft on face value, as any deal around that figure is. But we’ll get the value by him being a key starter for rest of this decade, and him being a key starter for England over next 4 years as they head to a home euros. 2 years down the line, could have likes of Man City knocking and wanting to spend £80m+ because of the form and how World Cup went.

They’re making the moves at right time. If they drop off because players need settling / manager is shit, their floor is still safety, and they can get moving on. Worse thing to do is throw money at the squad when a downward spiral has already started and you are not far above relegation.

When I caught some of Leeds games last season he gave me Joelinton vibes. As in he didn’t look like a striker at all, or someone you want regularly in front of goal, but when he was popping up in more central midfield areas and progressing the ball, looked a real talent. Raw and needs some more development, with £40m an excessive outlay, but one I can see paying off. Perfectly suited physicality wise for the English game.
