  1. Didn’t Cov nearly beat them in the Semi’s if it wasn’t for a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside?
  2. it would go to the PL panel in the first instance. But after that it would be the High Court. Hope that helps.
  3. No, hence the “don’t forget…” ”keep up”
  4. Hardly anyone referred to Chelsea as “Oil Money”. It’s night and day compared with City. I’ve heard a lot of “Arab money” as well - which couldn’t be more obvious. You guys will understand soon RE: the comments by Carragher and clan. Agree with your second point 100%
  5. What? The investigation began years before that. You can’t appeal something that you haven’t been charged with Imagine going into court tomorrow “yeah the police might charge me with murder but I’ve not been charged yet but can I appeal just in case” I’m guessing you’re not all there?
  6. We only got charge February last year, so not sure how they rejected anything a couple of years ago.
  7. City aren’t state owned. We’re owned by CFG - The group is owned by three organisations, of which 81% is majority-owned by Abu Dhabi United Group, 18% by the American firm Silver Lake, and 1% by Chinese firms China Media Capital and CITIC Capital. Hope that helps you sleep better tonight mate.
  8. If found guilty an appeal would go to the High Court, no?
  9. Just spotted this on one of our forums. We’ve been asking for the club to stick up for itself for years. They’ve played the “if we just don’t say anything they’ll leave us alone” card for too long. The nonsense Carragher has been allowed to spout - he should be number one on that list. Closely followed by Simon Jordan. It’s all well and good having opinions but some of these professional pundits have crossed the line a few times. The constant “state owned” line from Carragher - when we’re not owned by one entity let alone state, the underlying racist tones of “oil money” thats thrown about, and still is by Man U fans that mustn’t understand what INEOS do. I for one can’t wait!
  10. Read this on another forum - I highly doubt Premier League CEO Richard Masters sleeps very well at night knowing what’s coming this year regarding City “charges,” but that’s not the only thing giving him anxiety… What will people think when the severely underreported revelations from 2020 resurface? Namely the fact that Liverpool and Man united had special access to vet Richard Masters as a candidate in the running to be Premier League CEO. Masters was the League committee’s fourth choice for the role, the other three miraculously decided the job wasn’t for them, leaving the reds lap dog as the only option left. Didn't know that about Masters.
  11. Cost of a season ticket there is ridiculous. We’ve just had our renewals through at City for next season and it’s gone up by £3.67 per game for my dad. Nothing really for the level of football we’re seeing, so can’t complain. I know the City fans group is crying about it - I don’t know what they want? Massive expansion to the North Stand and brand new facilities whilst watching class football! For an extra £3.67 per game!
  12. He was integral to us beating Bayern and Real last season in the CL. We’ve been worse off without him this season and when he’s fully fit he’s started. The narrative that he’s been dropped is Graeme Souness nonsense. He’s not hit the heights of last season but to be fair to him he’s been injured a lot. Around Christmas when he was fully fit he had a run of 3 goals in 3 games then got injured again. I can see him being moved inside eventually. He’s easily the best player at the club for keeping hold of the ball, which we all know Pep loves.
  13. Yet, we’ll see Spurs get some awful decisions over the next few weeks
  14. Reading this morning that 5th place in the league will now likely mean CL football. Can’t have Man U missing out on the CL money can we..
  15. Put it this way, Ferguson is currently thought of as the all time greatest in England, and possibly rightly so. Excellent manager over the years. But when you look at his time, he bought some duffers - Veron, Djemba-Djemba, Bebe (what was that transfer all about?!), Anderson, the list of 4 or 5 keepers after Schemichael, etc - just like all top managers have done. And did he change the way football was played? He stuck with 4-4-2 and had two decent wingers whacking the ball into the box for the strikers. If a team challenged them then he went and bought their best player (as shown when he took Cole from yous). If there was an up and coming young kid then Man United got them without being challenged (Keane, Rooney). I’d argue Pep doesn’t have that luxury because there’s four or five clubs that the best players could go to in England now. Obviously it’s all opinions and I’ve got a dog in the fight so I’d have to back Pep
  16. I get what you mean but I’d argue all three were Pep’s signings. Hes been watching Nunes since Sporting - made a comment back then how good he was. Phillips was recommended to him by Bielsa - one of Pep’s heroes. Mendy we bought after he had a good game against us for Monaco - I’d argue he was a Pep signing.
  17. Not really. Look at what ETH has wasted at United. Or Poch at Chelsea. But ultimately this is a thread about Managers, not what clubs can or cannot afford. Even as a City fan I’m not Pep’s biggest fan, he’s said some things to annoy me and I think he should have done better with some of the kids that have come through and been moved on. But I’d say, easily, he’s completely changed the game in England for years.
  18. Don't forget Pep paid £50m for Ben Mendy. £43m for Phillips. £50m for Nunes…. Yes, it’s not hard to believe Pep can pay a lot for a donkey.
  19. Not team in England focused on playing from the back before Pep came. I remember specifically the commentators saying it wouldn’t work when Claudio Bravo was clowning around trying to play 1-2’s with Mangala. Surely you can’t deny that?
  20. RE: Pep always having great players - when he joined City we’d finished 4th the season before and had the same points as the team in 5th. We had Sagna and Clichy as our fullbacks, we had Bony upfront. We had Mangala scoring own goals. We had Fernando anchoring the midfield! We had Fabian Delph starting. He built the team he has now, yes he spent money, but he identified players that could either fit in to his style and philosophy of playing straight away (but there’s not many about), or ones that he could improve and get them playing the best football of their careers. Players come to City and completely change the way they play under Pep. Rodri is a perfect example - absolute donkey when he first came and has since become one of the best in his position. Look what Pep did with Sterling!! You have Sunday league teams playing out from the back and keeping possession! He’s completely changed the game.
  21. Is your owner not able to do the same? As far as I’m aware, improvement of facilities doesn’t go against FFP. Any reason why Brighton can’t do what Leicester did and spend £80m of the £100m they got from Caicedo and create fantastic academy and training facilities like Leicester have done with the Maguire money?
  22. For me, I’d like to see teams like yourselves, Villa, Brighton etc be able to break the “top 4” without the corruption of trying to keep the red teams in it. In 2013 the chief of the Premier League openly said that Man U not winning the league was detrimental to the Premier League - he said that openly and people just ignored it. The excitement of Leicester winning it the other year showed that new fans will be brought to the league by a new team winning it. But realistically it’s not about fans anymore, it’s about money. It’s a shame but that’s the way it is now. My favourite memories are still of games at Maine Road, playing football at halftime behind the Kippax. Football and the rules were more simple then, it was more enjoyable. No matter what City win I’ll always look back and have fonder memories of the Maine Road days than now. Going into school as a kid surrounded by red shite that never went to matches and having a me vs them attitude was great! Football just needs that enjoyment back, the life is being sucked out of it every season.
