It is annoying that we take ages to get deals done. I don't expect 5 transfers done on the first day of the window but there seems something inefficient about our processes all the same.

Luke you silly sausage

You're constantly Piroe-etting to avoid running into them, it's madness.

Bit of tweaking needed to last two lines but it's got potential.

Jackson's disciplinary record points to deeper attitude (or at least temperament) issues I think. His red against us was just dumb but had an air of predictability to it. It's like we had Chelsea under some pressure (though just a normal amount for SJP), and rather than try and get the better of us with superior football, Jackson couldn't help lashing out and that was the end of him and his side's chances that day. Then there's his red in the CWC recently.

Heard he's refusing to come back to training till he gets his long overdue pay rise.

The thing with these supercars is they're made to be driven hard and fast. They entice you to drive them that way. One could argue you need to be a very good (even professional) driver to handle them safely. Problem is, at those higher speeds, your margin for error becomes way smaller and your risk of serious injury/death way higher. But sadly, many drivers don't fully realise this till they're losing control, then it's too late. Obviously a tire blowout isn't usually foreseeable, but if you have one while going the speed limit, your chances of survival are much higher. Just desperately sad all round.

Reports coming out that Jota was driving, and at high speed. Not at all surprising, but what a tragic and unnecessary loss of life. I do hope this is a wake up call to other young men, in similar positions of fame and affluence, inclined to drive in a similar way. Maybe it can save some lives in future.

The funny irony is that someone like Pedro coming in and bossing it (though it's only been one game) just guarantees their squad harmony and balance gets screwed, as it pushes the 47 other players in his position down the pecking order and out of the XI. Or maybe that's just copium.

Gordon doesn't have the technical ability to be the focal point of your attack imo, and seems to mope about if you put him on the right and take away his ability to cut inside. I'd take Wissa for a sub 30m fee, otherwise (as others have said) I'd like us to push for an inexpensive option. But not DCL please.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (playing for Leeds United)

Some of his stats floating around in here are very concerning and hard to ignore. Imo I could handle him being 3rd choice on low wages, but I reckon he'd be 2nd and on something heinous. #lookabroadEddie -
The kind of deal that needs to be done, for club and player. He'd leave having lived his dream for his boyhood club. It's the right time.

Bloody finally, a transfer. Have to say I've warmed to the idea of Elanga. 55 odd mill isn't quite 'a steal' imo (that'd be a David on a free or something) but at most is market value, so I'm optimistic this'll turn out to be a good deal. Get Trafford in soon, then a top line CB, and we're potentially cooking with gas.

I... didn't panic. But I got the double whammy of experiencing a crap summer as a Newcastle fan, and being ripped out too for basically calling it out quite early. Lovely stuff. If you're suggesting it was all ok because we finished 5th and won a cup, well, that's one way of looking at it. I would say we did that in SPITE of stuff behind the scenes, and we won't keep getting away with that. That's a cause for concern in my view.
-
None. All is well. No cause for any concern, in any area.
-
Nah, it's more the attitude of - "ha, he has that opinion, what an idiot" - that's really pervasive. But I don't expect people to take responsibility for it.
-
I've shared my view in a number of ways before, and been consistently mocked and derided for it. Which in my naive view is not the way people - even on an internet forum - should treat different opinions. I guess the solution is to not share it at all, I'd save myself the hassle.

It really is extraordinary how saying "not all is well behind the scenes", then refusing to spell out every reason why, on the basis that it's an unoffensive fact, engenders such a summarily negative response. 1. Not everything is well at any club. Ours is 'any club'. Therefore, not all is well. 2. More to the point though, I do not accept that the majority of people here can't see the issues we're facing today. Other posters have highlighted them even in the last page or two. 3. Those who still deny the above, will not be satiated if I explain in detail my reasons for thinking "not all is well". The more I say, the more I'll get lampooned. The response to my last post is one of many examples of that. 4. I (and others) got roundly mocked on this forum in July last year for questioning our transfer dealings (or lack thereof). Naturally, the mockers were nowhere to be seen when I (and others) were proven right. I see two underlying problems here; 1. A lot of people cannot handle an opinion outside of their own. The thought that Newcastle may not be well run in some areas, is utterly unbearable, so if someone like me points it out, the pitchforks come out. 2. While jumping to the conclusion that someone like me is some kind of negative Nancy who can't rationalise their views (or whatever the opinion is), people fail to actually be open to what the views of someone like me actually are. You might actually be surprised to hear how nuanced and reasonable they are. It's a sad state of affairs when someone like me isn't free to have my own opinion, when it falls foul of the masses. I full expect to be informed why all of this is wrong too.
-
I don't need to. It's pretty obvious. Some people just don't want to accept it.

Things are not all well behind the scenes.

A month of diddly squat happening. Count me worried.

We need to spread a false rumour that we're super keen on him - Boehly will be on it in a flash. Oldest trick in the book. -

I wouldn't even be angry. I'd just laugh.
