"At the moment, we are not too far off," Diouf said in a statement on l'OM's official website.

"In the next 24 hours, it could be definitively clinched."

He was at the match last night too.

Was he? Just that it looks as if the interview he did on the Marseille website was done in the Stade Velodrome after the Marseille-Nice match.

In Lequipe earlier today:

It says here that Beye confirms he is on his way.

Habib Beye confirmed Thursday his Marseilles departure for Newcastle.  The former captain of the om hears to raise in England a "new tournament" and must sign a contract of four years, financially very interesting.  "I lived here for four years very beautiful things, the better ones of my life of footballer.  But to grow, it is necessary for me a new tournament.  I maybe had installed myself in a certain routine and it lacked me maybe something to be more performance", declared the international Senegalese one in front of the press.

Looking forward for this and the Faye deal going through. Our defence will look quality then.

Think we'll sign Beye, Faye and another today. Not quite sure who the other will be.

Riquelme would be alright, Juninho... but i have a feeling it will be a face more familiar to the PL,at a smaller fee.

Heard Riquelme will be joining Everton later today.

bit of a smart move imo getting faye and beye. beye will have at least a fellow senagalese who is already used to the premiership, to help him settle in. good management or just a  coincidence :parky: defence looking better all the time. A midfielder that can make things happen and job almost done till January window.
