Guest niina
Hi, need help again So I just bought 2nd-hand Newcastle home jersey of season 03-05 (with sponsor blue Northern Rock, not the gold one), with the name Shearer and 9 in the back. But here in Asia there are so many fake jersey, so I'm a bit afraid that I just bought the fake one. So, I'm very appreciated if anybody can provide the pics of this certain jersey (home jersey, Shearer's, blue Northern Rock, Premier League), the most important is the back pics which clearly show the name and the number, for comparison. Thank you Updated with the pics (click for larger pics), please have a look Need clarification: because I thought the name and number in the back supposedly also made from velvet, thick and soft like Northern Rock in the front (not thin shiny paper). So I'm wrong. Or was it like that in the previous seasons (before this jersey's season)? Guest lessthanlee
I'd suggest doing a google image search, or even look on ebay UK to see if there's a shirt from the same season with number and lettering which you could compare...

womblemaster
given how hard her writing is to read....maybe the club should give us a pruple and grey strip so the defenders cant see our strikers?!! I guess though the league woould block the use of `stealth` strips
Jaehyun
Who do you think we are, trading f*cking standards? She was only asking... Should I have included a wink? Haha, I love British humour, but to be frank, only around 0.01% of the world are intelligent enough to understand it. Cmon guys don't be too harsh, he/she won't pick up your sarcasm. Guest niina
Thank you for the input Because the Newcastle jersey I have, the blue Northern Rock in the front is made from velvet and quite thick, but the number 9 and name Shearer at the back is made from screening and flashing/shine (hopefully those are the right words) and also thin, so I wonder whether this is fake one or not. Because I thought the number 9 and name Shearer at the back supposedly made from velvet and quite thick as well? But from th pic from number09, it's look flashing/shine, so really I'm confused So, for you guys who lives in Newcastle and have original Newcastle jersey for fans, please tell me
Unlucky Luque
The blue on the front is soft and squishy and the back is shiny paper
Guest lessthanlee
Why dont you post a picture of the back of your shirt with the "Shearer 9" on it so we can have a look? I'm pretty certain most of us would be able to tell you if it was genuine or not
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
I can upload a picture of my top from that season, it doesn't have Shearer 9 on like. but if you can make a conclusion from a picture of "Woodgate 27", then I'll upload it. Guest niina
I feel relieved Because I thought the name and number in the back supposedly also made from velvet, thick and soft So I'm wrong. Or was it like that (previous seasons)?
Guest lessthanlee
Nah, i think the names and numbers have always been made of the shiny sort of material as they are just pressed on at the club shops and that
geordie_b
the actual player shirts have larger velvet names and numbers
Yorkie
Dunno about anyone else, but my name and number were the proper material stuff, the 'squishy' stuff, as Niina put it. Like the sponsor.
Guest niina
Now I'm become confused again So, what's the procedur in UK regarding the jersey for fans, do they make 2 types, the first type with the sponsor in the front, but without the name and number in the back (so the fans can add their custom name and number), then in the club shop they add the name and number, that's why the name and number (made from thin shiny paper) different from the sponsor in the front (made from thick squishy velvet); and the second type is complete with the sponsor, name and number (all made from thick squishy velvet). Is that work like that?
Guest hawayman
Almost all shirts are sold without name or number which are added in the shop with whatever you want, many people get their own name printed on their shirt and they are indeed thin shiny papery material.
