The penalty decision that gave them the equaliser was the sort of soft penalty you see at Stamford Bridge when Chelsea need a goal with five minutes to go. Ball crossed from two meters away into a trailing arm behind a player who had lunged to try and get a block on the ball. No intent, a natural movement and a gift to let Germany back into the game.
