Guest Pie
They were all shit. Not one player came out of that game with credit. Ameobi was no worse than half a dozen others and they haven't just come back from long term injury. He's not good enough and we all know that but this kind of shit, with its lack of perspective, is just daft.
Liam Liam Liam O
Listening to Radio Newcastle today on the way into town, John Anderson on discussing the merits of Shola compared to Viduka. He honestly said that they are similar players but that in his opinion Shola had that bit more strength than Viduka!

Guest Reservoir Mags
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere but I just got it off a mate of mine. Fcuking funny I thought. AMEOBI TO FACE SURGERY? Shola Ameobi was at the centre of an injury scare last night amid reports that the Newcastle United striker was facing the prospect of a clue detection operation that could rule him out of wandering about seemingly without aim on football pitches for ever. It is rumoured he has been playing for several seasons without a clue and this has caused widespread concern through the club. Dr.Dudley Noggin, clinic director of The British Clueless Centre, was quick to dismiss the gloomy prognosis on Ameobi and insisted he could undergo surgery and still be available for forthcoming frustrating defeats, assuming no clue is detected. "With the modern treatment now available we can have useless footballers who have no clue back wandering about the pitch seemingly without aim within twenty minutes, experiencing further problems with disillusioned fans," said Noggin. "Our experience suggests he should easily be lolloping around like a pissed-up giraffe in time for Newcastle United's next crunch match safe in the knowledge that he really does not have a clue as opposed to just thinking he doesn't." The loss of Ameobi's services would represent a major blow to Sam Allardyce's hopes of jeopardising his chances of getting Newcastle United back in to Europe, although he will have been lifted by the return of Steven Carr following a Guiness pie eating injury which left the player 30 stone overweight and unable to tie his boot laces. Ameobi's painful plight first became apparent following Newcastle's game at Derby last Monday when he was so obviously without a clue manager Sam Allardyce had to hide under his coat biting his own hand, but the injury worsened to such an extent that he requested to be allowed to sit on the bench staring into space against West Ham on Sunday. Sources at Newcastle were playing down reports that Ameobi was already destined for the operating theatre, however, as he was not due to see a specialist until yesterday evening. Earlier, it had emerged that scans showed he had suffered a clue-loss crater of massive proportions, which could only be healed with a miracle. It is believed ex Newcastle star Fumaca is comforting the stricken Ameobi.
Guest jamesmartinsmith
Why the fuck did he play as a fucking left-winger last night!?
hakka
6 pages! Are people really debating for that long over how shite Ameobi is? He's barely imrpoved since the first time I saw him play, which was years ago. He is the "Bramble" of our forward line. Time to move on and look at someone else. He's not good enough and we all know that but this kind of s***, with its lack of perspective, is just daft. Coulden't agree more. Scapegoat tastic really, he was no good against Derby but he wasn't any worse than most of the others. Owen and Shola were starved of service by our zero creativity against Derby. Roze was probably our worst player that night, as although impressed with him getting forward well, that night he missed an absolute sitter, let Howard have no fewer than 6 good headers at our goal (thank god he has poor aim), plus him and cacapa missed the header that led to their goal. But yes lets all have a go at Shola instead. Shola missed one decent chance which the only one he had all game! He did no worse than Owen etc Again i am not saying Ameobi is brilliant, far from it he's been poor in his two starts (as viduka was in his first 3), just this is way over the top. Regarding the other game he played in Arsenal Ameobi is no LW same as Smith is no RW yet thats more down to Sam than them if they do not produce anything of note from these positions. Viduka has been shit against Bolton, Villa & Boro (bar his goal) and Wigan i missed. Must Say brilliant in his last game V WH lets hope he can keep it up. M4
Just going round in circles, people aren't blaming Shola for the bad results or making him a scapegoat for god's sake. But for his nonsensical behaviour on a football pitch. One that has been the same for 7 years. Baffles me how anyone can be bothered to type more than a few lines in his defense. Seems to me that he gets a disproportionate huge slice of abuse/blame every tiime the team plays badly with him in the team. You really don't think that he is some people's scapegoat on here? Really? Scapegoat - referring to someone who is blamed for misfortunes, generally as a way of distracting attention from the real causes. i.e. A non creative midfield. Guest eyeball_tickler
every time ameobi misses a sitter, its just the same as bramble making a mistake at the back. a strikers job is to score goals, a defenders job is to stop goals. its a fair comparison in my eyes.
