Barton has to cover for Butt too much so Barton can't press forward as much and do his thing. Did anyone see his pass on the half volley after a corner, he had his back turned had a defender on him and it was about 40 yard pass but he got it there with pin point precision. Somebody with little talent could not do technical passes like that. Obviously theres alot of s*** going on in his life atm so it wouldn't be too fair too judge him so early. Is he not good enough to adapt to new team mates? Will you hide behind the pathetic injury comeback myth? Has he just had "bad luck"? Are the nasty big men in the crowd putting ickly Joey off his game? Is the press not printing enough of his self-pitying, lying little rants? Or is he just over rated after a decent season elsewhere? Allardyce has a wealth of options at central midfield, most of which he loves unconditionally (Butt, Barton, Smith and Geremi). You should have taken the hint with Emre, if he's not getting a look in after some of his cameo appearances, then what evidence is there to suggest Allardyce wants a creative player in the middle? We can't just keep buying players man, he bought 3 central midfielders (ish) in the summer (and Faye can play at DM as well), I'd be highly surprised if he bought anymore.
