KK said on the radio apparently, if this is old news from the interview last night because i read this in a new thread on another forum:

Just heard an interview with KK on the radio. Shearer to join his backroom staff as a coach helping in training and various other matters. He'll be doing this in conjunction with his media work till the summer. After that he's doing the job full time with the chance to climb the ladder if he wishes.

Coach departure and arrival:

Pearson out, AS in...!

Alan Shearer may well be joining Kevin Keegan's backroom staff after all but Nigel Pearson's immediate replacement will be another AS - Adam Sadler.

First team coach Pearson resigned on Friday, and Kevin Keegan admitted it was likely Alan Shearer would work with Newcastle United in some sort of part-time coaching role.

This would allow the former number nine to keep up his other commitments, mainly television work, while making use of his soon to be acquired coaching licenses.

It would seem logical that Shearer could come in and work one or two days a week as a forwards coach.

Meanwhile, Pearson will be replaced by Reserve coach Adam Sadler starting today at Villa Park. Sadler's second string replacement is still to be confirmed.
