Souness set us back, there is no question about it. No amount previous managers qualifying for europe changes that fact. No amount of previous chairmen backing/not backing the manager changes that fact. Freddy got the Souness appointment all wrong NE5. You're well and truly terminally deluded if you think that wasn't the case. A sizeable amount of people on this board backed Souness to transform himself into the new Alex Ferguson for getting rid of the "cancer", but not me. As for being obsessed with Freddie Shepherd, I've said this before, but I'm correcting people when they get things wrong, just like anybody would do, but a lot of things are posted that are wrong or have zero perspective about the old board, it isn't me to blame if people get things wrong and talk bollocks I find it quite astonishing that the struggle this season, hasn't made this particular point more obvious to some. Because it should have done, especially our disastrous transfer dealings, including the players we sold and failed to attract to the club for whatever reason. That implies this thread is now about NE5 versus Mick, Baggio, fredbob, TRon, etc and that the staff want to keep such discussion to this thread and I imagine this thread alone. Did you see Ray and Winston after they'd been in that slime river man? They were going to "kill" each other. Poisonous though, being serious for a moment, and exactly what we don't need on here.
