junkhead Posted January 9, 2009 Share Posted January 9, 2009 He had a terrible start for Roma, but he's doing ok now.. still 35 year old Max Tonetto (Italian Stevie Carr) keeps him out of the starting 11 for most games, which says a lot about Riise's defensive qualities., A loan wouldn't be bad, as we'd be better off with Riise as back up, than without a back up at all, but a permanent transfer would be madness. They once reported that Deco was definitely coming before posting a sheepish update saying that the day he was supposed to be in Newcastle to sign, he was in fact training with Barcelona. He has scored some spectacular goals like but he seemed to lose his knack of hiting the target, went through a phase when he could hit a barn door at the end of last season. But at the same time, its kind of hard not being good when you play in the top4 teams.
