Owen's replacement

Owen score 1 in 2 games for us, and is injured 3 of 4 games. So if you count how many games newcastle play and how his goal ratio is pr newcastle game, then it isnt excactly good is it. We should be able to replace a striker who scores 9-11 goals a season, shouldnt we?

Give Ameobi a full season and I reckon he'd get 9 goals.

Not quite the same is it.

give them a chance

Bit of a risk.

It will always be a risk to play new players, especially young ones. We have always said that we cant throw in young players in relegationfight, when we were in the top we couldnt throw in the youngsters in the champions league fight... when can we throw in youngsters? When we are in the lead with 4+ goals?  How does a player get experience, and yet alone premier league experience? By sitting on our bench or playing reserve footy, ofcourse not. Neither going on loan to other leagues.

We seriously need to change our mentality towards our younger players, and give them a chance to show themself.. Just take 3 of the top 4 as an example, man utd, liverpool, and arsenal all gives youngsters a try from now and then.
