Not sure what the story is with Moyo. Heard '4 year deal', but that's about it. Haven't seen him play/train at all yet.

Is that how you came to give him a -8 PA on FM? A 4-year deal? ;)

That's how he arrived from FC Sochaux!

Good win for the U18s this morning in tricky conditions.  Boro were better in the first half in my view, took the lead with an early penalty when Ben Sayer put in a needless challenge following a corner.  Newcastle equalised when Dan Taylor nicked home from close range, and went infront when Phil Airey was felled in the box by Boro's right back, with Airey getting up to score the pen himself.

The referee nearly called the game off at half time because there was one dodgy area of the park (90% of the pitch was still playable) but both teams wanted to keep going and it continued, and soon after the break it was 3-1 when a long ball was flicked on to Airey who finished powerfully via the keeper.  Boro then had a shout for a penalty for a handball which the Assistant Referee ( :pow: ) deemed accidental, but they were back in it when the referee awarded the third penalty of the day when Mick Riley (since when was he a left back? I refereed him when he played for Walker Central Juniors and he used to bang the goals in for fun) clipped a Boro player's heels.  The award was disputed but correct, and the penalty was again converted for 3-2.

Dennis Knight then made it 4-2 with a good finish from the left, before Boro threw caution to the wind, grabbing back a third with around 5 minutes to go, but Newcastle saw out the last few minutes for what in the end was a deserved win, as they were much the better side in the second half.

  • 4 weeks later...

The whole Pardew thing could have had thing to do with the result tonight, all the things that has happened in the club lately etc.

Probably a lot of the lads who might be afraid of their future in the club.

I see dark clouds coming up over the younger players

Yeah, that will be it

I did start a blog, but general lack of time stopped me (that and the general disinterest in the Reserves/Youth there seems to be).
